  • One early morning, a woman heads off for work. She leaves her home in Heworth, York, England at the same time and takes the same route she’s been taking for weeks, ever since her car broke down. But on the morning of March 19, 2009, 35-year-old Claudia Lawrence didn't make it to her destination. Police are confident that she left her home that morning, but something happened in the 1.5 miles between her cottage and the University of York’s main campus, where she was a chef.
Over the years, there have been many theories. Was it a lover? A jealous partner? A serial killer? Someone took Claudia Lawrence, and after 14 years, her family has not given up on finding answers. With new leads and tips steadily appearing, will this be the year they finally get those answers?
Anyone with information that could assist the investigation into Claudia Lawrence’s disappearance should make a report via the North Yorkshire Police website or by calling 101, select option 1, and pass details to the Force Control Room. You can also contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or through their anonymous form on their website. No personal details are taken, information cannot be traced or recorded, and you will not go to court.

I’ve listened to a lot of podcasts and seen a lot of programmes about Claudia Lawrence and I have to say this is one of the better ones, both for telling the story and for accuracy. So many, even in the UK, get details wrong. My own view is that there are a lot of red herrings in the evidence we have regarding the case, some of which, added to the clumsy police communications about Claudia’s private life, may have prevented people coming forward that would have reduced the speculation and fog around her private life and people in her close circle.

There is reason to think that Claudia was buried at or near a construction site very close to where she worked. There is a considerable amount of evidence on CCTV shown on Aarin Stoner's website, where he enhances, and enlarges footage, and explains what is being said. It is obvious the Police had the same access to CCTV, yet, after 15 years they are no further forward in their investigation. They have had thousands of pounds of taxpayers' money, time and resources. Claudia's reputation has received relentless attention by the media. The same media that failed to mention two other people, witnesses to the crime, were killed the same night as Claudia. Why has the general public never been informed of that? Why did the Police was so much time sending detectives to Cyprus, when answers were found closer to home? The Police claim that only a man was seen walking by the wall close to the alley behind her house, when in fact she was been ushered by a man using a bag to hide her head from CCTV. The group of regular patrons of the Nag's Head need to be investigated for collaborating together, and failing to break their silence about what happened, when clearly they were all aware. The Police need to be investigated for failing to do their duty and allowing murderers to live free among the population. It seems very likely that someone in power has decided that they do not want Claudia's case to progress, and those responsible brought to justice. They have got away with murder, not just of Claudia, but three people in one night! Do your research! There is even CCTV footage of Claudia being attacked by a white van with an open passenger side door, next to a wheelie bin. The Police can nolonger use a lack of evidence as an excuse! Her shirt was found by 'Researcher' at St. Mary's Church churchyard, along with shot gun casings. How is it that private individuals have been able to solve the mystery, while the Police have nothing to show for 15years of effort?
