Student Athlete alum here. Kent State desperately needs new and better facilities. Even when compared to other MAC schools, they are woefully inadequate and behind.
Idaho at least realized that it was more competitive at the FCS level and dropped down from being an FBS school. Maybe Kent State should think about doing the same. Then again, it's more than likely worth it financially to be the worst FBS school than it is to be a top FCS school.
@@FrodisRoom Would the MWC invite them? At the time they dropped down, they had bounced around from the WAC to being an independent to the Sun Belt before rejoining the Big Sky.
Can you talk about the worst FCS program Louisiana program Northwestern State Demons. They had some tragedy with a player killed but they have 2 straight winless seasons.
@@EmbracetheGrind Northern Colorado would also be an interesting candidate to look at. Don't know what's going on in Greeley, but it ain't good football.
Kent st Football has very little to work with. Facilities, little NIL budget etc makes it hard to attract recruits to come there. Idk if this program can at least see 6 wins with the way their athletic department is.
It's interesting that multiple National Championship coaches have gone through KSU as either a coach or player. Don James coached there, Lou Holtz and Nick Saban played. It's sort of like Army Basketball.......Bob Knight coached at West Point, and Coach K played there. However, the Black Knights are still one of the few longtime programs that has never even made the NCAA tournament.
Plus all of the pro bowlers; Josh Cribbs, Julien Edelman, James Harrison... Antonio Gates even played there, but suited up for the hoops team instead of the football team.
Interesting they had super bowl winning players that played at Kent st. Jack Lambert, James Harrison, and Julian Edleman come to mind. They also had Josh Cribbs a solid kick returner and Dri Archer who played a few season in the NFL.
As an Ohio fan, I felt bad seeing the final score of the Buffalo game knowing all that staff and players worked as hard as they could and still end winless
Not sure where to start with them longterm....but in the short term they need a scheduling adjustment pronto otherwise the doom cycle will get much much worse.
Tbh we could be looking at a conversation with Kennesaw State if they don't really get on improving soon, still feels like they're working on transitioning up but if they can't find more success
@EmbracetheGrind might I add to give us a solution to their problem at least as a good coaching hire because I was thinking about getting one of the Dakota coaches to be their head coach to build up the program or dropping them to the FCS like Idaho did

The bigger problem is where's the money coming from to upgrade facilities.

I think even dropping to FCS they would be mid tier , they just wouldn’t be able to compete against top 25 FCS schools in there current state
@@Panthersigma Didn't think about that.
They wouldn’t even be a good FCS school. Might as well stay for the money.
Idaho's decision was not necessarily a good one. If they had stayed FBS, they'd be on their way to the Mountain West right now.

Hoping to get one out later this week, someone sent me the recommendation on twitter a week ago

Funny that their rivals were the last team to go 0-12
Nice video, besides an audio error in the last 10 seconds of it. Pretty good quality

going from Tennessee to penn state should not be allowed them players were for sure not healthy at all
Best team on liberties schedule
This video should be about Temple and all the mishaps that are happening with the athletic department
Already have a temple video planned for later this week

Can’t help but root for this train wreck of a team.
They’ll go 3-9 next year. They can’t possibly be worse tbh. Julian Edelman should cut them a check 😅
Congrats to the Golden Flashes on their Perfect Season... 😝😂
you think this is bad? Wait until the Transfer Portal opens.
Kent st is so bad in football right now after going 0-12 this college football season should they go fcs
Kent State going 3-9 next year
They’ll be 1-11 in 2025.
Feel either them or umass are going to drop football
UMass is making a killing traveling down south to be beaten by SEC teams
UMASS would not be a laughing stock if they dropped down to FCS.
@@tcbobb1613 UMass would rather earn more money being a doormat for the rest of the FBS than actually being a competitive football program.
😅😅😅
De Rank them to Fcs
'Relegate' is the word you're looking for. The European soccer leagues do it with relative success, but I think money might be a factor here.
