Great vid 👍🏼 Some advice to make your life easier is to use a small copper brush on the rusted threads, it sorts them out much quicker than that nylon brush and gets into the threads a lot easier 👍🏼
Guess you know you’ve been around bikes a long time when someone calls 105 “vintage” LOL Nice video though. Reminds me of that time after a hard criterium crash I decided to ‘rebuild’ my Dura-ace STI shifters.... fun times. Switched to easy Campagnolo after that and never had issues again.

I got unlucky. It looks like my set screw was over tightened from the factory, so when I took it out, and tried disassembling the arm from the pivot, the thread were smashed because of the set screw and the screw that holds all the pieces together is ruined

It will also get the rust off without damaging the chrome, unlike the cutting disc! he used on the spring.

Yeah, 1992 was the first time I got a "mountain bike", so my cycling journey starts from there.
