    Hi Mili, I find you super interesting to watch and listen to, informative and quirky as well (quirky being a positive thing in my book), and I appreciate how you often just do your own thing. Very inspiring. Best wishes from Denmark 💞

      @@whatsmilimaking I feel the same way but I love listening to how your mind works and how you plan out your knits with colors and techniques I feel like I learn so much when I come to your channel!

    Gurl... the male knitting pattern issue is REAL. That's part of the reason why I design a lot myself or heavily modify. That being said, I always love to discuss either specifically male patterns or ways to modify patterns and what may be good for that. Anyway... I enjoy your color and sense of exploration in your knitting. Keep it up.

      Ravelry tags exist for a reason, and it sucks when patterns are mislabeled 😭 I also wish that ravelry had an option on project pages to label if the project was made for a specific gender. I was able to find some male projects on the raglan patterns I was looking at by searching "husband" lol. I look forward to watching your podcast and learning more about sweater construction for men!

    I saw this video on my lunch break but didn’t watch it until I got home, lol, just so I could say that while watching I worked on my first knit project! It’s just a scarf working the knit stitch back and forth but I’m enjoying it much more than I would have thought. 9mm bamboo needles and some super bulky yarn is much more enjoyable to learn on than my original aluminum 5mm needles ( idk why high school me bought these )and some random yarn I had from a old school project. Looking forward to the next podcast and hearing about your sewing project. I also recently finished mending my work pants and hope to either make some cute bow tie pillowcases for my bed or turning some of my old jeans into a stingray crossbody I say on instagram. Anyways thank you for the video and inspiring me to try knitting again!

      Yay! That's so exciting 🥳 Congrats on your first knit project! I also bought aluminum straight needles from Michaels for my first knit project. Actually, I apparently bought them twice cause I found another pair while cleaning later on lol. I tried knitting with them recently and was honestly struggling! Idk why they are marketed towards beginners cause they are so uncomfortable to use 😭 Anyways I am happy to hear you are having a better time with the bamboo needles! A stingray crossbody, that's also an upcycling project sounds so cool 😎

    I know I always say how fast you knit, but I seriously started 2 sweaters in october and only just hit the body and you did like three yokes plus in what seems like 1-2 weeks! You make me feel like I must be knitting wrong with how slow I am 😂😂😂

    • @whatsmilimaking
      @whatsmilimaking  วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      The sweaters I'm knitting this month are moving exceptionally fast cause they are all on larger needles + I am feeling the stress of the end of the year. But in comparison, I have been knitting on the Eva cardigan since May lol
      All knitting is good knitting, fast or slow 😌

      @ definitely agree that this isnt a race but dang Im impressed at your speed! Lol my sweaters are both worsted and on 6-7 needles 🤣

      @@ClayCraftCoffee I started knitting continental more often, and it did speed up my knitting this year 🫣

      @ haha Im a continental knitter too. I mean no like comparison or put down on myself or anything I am just marveled by your speed! 😅 also, the sweaters look so cute! That lume colors are beautiful.

    I'm knitting with peace fleece right now!! I actually love using it and the ethos of the yarn is really awesome. I am using it for a cable knit (Diarmuid pullover) and I can see what you mean by getting a bit of hand pain... but it cables so beautifully and the end sweater blooms so nicely. Love the colours on your Lumme! I never considered that pattern until I saw your version! ❤

    • @whatsmilimaking
      @whatsmilimaking  34 นาทีที่ผ่านมา

      The ethos behind the brand is 90% of the reason I would maybe purchase it again, the other 10% is because I like their colors a lot. It does cable so beautifully in the projects I've seen on ravelry 😍 I just looked up that pattern and it is stunning and so unique!! I love the collar detail too. I'm currently knitting the body of the joha loop with 6 mm with the peace fleece, and I finally don't hate it so maybe I can only knit it on loose stockinette projects lol

  • @Winterknits
    @Winterknits 23 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

    I feel the same way about Peace Fleece! I’ve had a SQ for years that I have tried to knit three times…. Still hoping to find a project for it 😊

    • @whatsmilimaking
      @whatsmilimaking  12 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      It's such a shame cause their heathery colors are so beautiful 😭 I did start knitting the body of the sweater with it today on 6 mm needles, and it def feels nicer than when I was knitting the colorwork. Maybe the secret is to knit plain stockinette sweaters with a loose gauge with it 😅

    Youre right having seen some other mixes for Peer Gynt, the tweed colors have 25% "Peruvian tweed from wool" but the non tweed is 100% norwegian wool

    • @whatsmilimaking
      @whatsmilimaking  12 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      Ahhh okay that makes sense-- I could have sworn I had read about the Peruvian wool somewhere lol

    I adore your Lumme sweater so so much. that color combo is just dreamy.
    I was working on a test knit of the Annette Pullover by em.knits_ ! but im mad at it because I have had weird dye lot problems (my yarn was all the same dye lot but one ball is significantly darker)

    • @whatsmilimaking
      @whatsmilimaking  14 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      Oh no 😭 That is the worst 😭 Is it too late to go and start blending in the darker skein?

  • @annalina-we
    @annalina-we วันที่ผ่านมา

    i had the same problem (inaccurate required yarn amount) with a sari nordlund scarf pattern, so maybe it's just a general problem with her calculation method

    • @whatsmilimaking
      @whatsmilimaking  14 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      That def sounds like a probability 🥲 I think I'm used to having yarn leftover from most projects, so I was shocked that I was actually using more for once lol
