I think it makes sense because, you usually can't find brushes that tiny and when you do, they aren't great and usually still too big. Believe me, I've been looking around and I can't find proper tiny brushes anywhere.

YOU DEADASS MADE YOUR OWN BRUSHES AND NEEDLE IM LOSING IT More importantly, thank you so much for presenting this more as a "on a budget version" than the typical "OMG cheap art supply challenge!!" i see so much in the art community, its even worse when people conclude "the materials were so bad so i couldnt create anything great" like honey your "fun challenge video" is someones daily life.. Over the years i have stocked up on lots of art supplies, but I used to think I couldnt get into e.g. customizing dolls since it appeared to be so expensive and exclusively for people with a certain set of tools In that sense, thank you so much for this video and I hope more people will try to create things no matter what!
zeroandzero i am seriously so thankful that someone actually said this. Because Ive seen it too, people would be burning their designer bags and some people are trying to get an education. Like hello we aren’t as bratty and insane like you. Tbh, no matter how rich i am i would never snoop to some people’s levels.
Well, I love how budget-ey and SUPER accessible, but it sorta gives me the vibe that your in a cult that hates art but you like art so to do art you must secretly sit in your room and use your own hair for brushes and berry juice as paints.
Whenever I’m feeling down or discouraged seeing what people can do with incredible materials and resources I love coming back to this video for inspiration
She looks like a nature spirit whose land got taken over by a waste dump and is making the most of it! It doesn't sound like a compliment but it is. She's got an adorable can-do charm about her which I adore.
"i'm poor" "don't worry i'll show you how to customize without wasting money!" takes it too seriously to the point she made her own paint brush and needles
She gives me the vibe that she would live in an orphanage for part-beast children or something and i love ittttt omg also this made me a lot more confident that i can still customize dolls with limited materials, especially the lack of sealant, but i don't think i'll be needing to make voodoo brushes or homemade needles (lmao), although i respect the sentiment that almost anyone can make a doll like this with whatever they find around the house, as well as being more eco-friendly. i actually have a faceless doll that i want to decorate so i'll definitely be using your wonderful advice! thank youu
I stumbled across your channel today after deciding I wanted to buy a MH doll and paint her, however I'm downsizing so I was worried about holding onto too many art supplies. Dude... as someone who compulsively hordes the “treasures” i find outside and all the art supplies I’ve ever been given ever and random trash from packages and other various things and tons of clothes and old sheets and such, I have an ENTIRE ROOM of random things I could make AWESOME custom dolls with... and a whole box of 20 - 30 year old Barbies in the basement.... hmmm, looks like I have a new hobby to try out PS. Don’t forget, you can also use old makeup like eyeshadow and blush for your dolls’ face up!! :)
Hey, if you do end up trying doll customizing, could you upload it on TH-cam for me, lol. I could help you with a couple of things if you need it, and maybe I could try things the way you try them and have somewhere to look when I don’t wanna buy all f this stuff! Random People: "Hey, it'd be cool if you could make a doll with cheaper stuff, like the dollar store stuff-"
Dollightful: "*I'LL USE TRASH AND HUMAN HAIR*" XD
This video shows it's not about the best materials, it's about the person
I love your name xD
@@taekookspillow i love yours too xD
Well hey buddy. Isn’t this awkward.
Y00ngles
I love all of your names
Omg the color scheme of this doll is soooo cool! I love the make shift brushes, they’re probably better than the ones you can buy lol! Awesome doll as always and this is a good way to introduce the hobby without intimidation! :3
i agree
HeXtian , luv dollightful and you❤️
HeXtian I always wanted to start customizing dolls but I always thought that ut was too expensive, so I didnt try it. But this, this is a game changer! I'm starting to gather materials tomorrow
I've always wanted to customize dolls since im a creative girl and I already had the things I needed when I was young but not cealent (spelling sorry) and water colour pencils , opoxy or any clay and lots more but this inspired me to use the things I have I love you Hextian and Dollightful
HeXtian makes me think of drag on a dime... doll on a dime?
YOU DEADASS MADE YOUR OWN BRUSHES AND NEEDLE IM LOSING IT
More importantly, thank you so much for presenting this more as a "on a budget version" than the typical "OMG cheap art supply challenge!!" i see so much in the art community, its even worse when people conclude "the materials were so bad so i couldnt create anything great" like honey your "fun challenge video" is someones daily life..
Over the years i have stocked up on lots of art supplies, but I used to think I couldnt get into e.g. customizing dolls since it appeared to be so expensive and exclusively for people with a certain set of tools
In that sense, thank you so much for this video and I hope more people will try to create things no matter what!
zeroandzero i am seriously so thankful that someone actually said this.
"Creativity is the most important thing in your tool bag"
Where do I buy that?
as soon as I read this she actually said it
YOU HAVE ALWAYS HAD IT
Zenythycal you don’t buy it you make it🤩🤩
FROM YOUR HEAD
I heard certain places on the internet sell it really cheap.
Irene: Do you like my mask?? I worked really hard on it!!
Theia: Honey my whole outfit was made from 13$ bucks you look like a goddess.
Meeeeeeeeeeeee lol you get a sub

Arnitra Smith Irene Oxide, a steampunk doll made by dollightful. She has a really cool mask
Irene: Thanks ‘honey’ But my mask is out of a can.

“We are making our own needle out of toothpicks”
Me, a 9 year old that has nothing to sew my ripped dolls jacket:YES, AND I ALSO HAVE GLUE!!
Did it work?
Probably not
I used to make tiny purses by folding leaves in half and sewing them together with grass and your comment reminded me of that
9 year old, bruh I’m 11 now, only 2 years older I don’t even watch this channel anymore and I know how to sew using a needle
Irene: hey can I borrow a hair clip?
Theia: bicth use a twist tie.
Lol
Yaaasss
Lol meeeee

TWIST TIES ARE ALWAYS HANDY
I love her! I think she is kind of a scavenger, like in a cool dystopian book or something! I love characters like that. She is so pretty!
Large Baguette it would be pretty hard to scavenge in high heels, but I get what ya mean.
Kiki Kat - not really, heels are actually very easy to walk in especially ones with a thick based heel like that
Whenever I’m feeling down or discouraged seeing what people can do with incredible materials and resources I love coming back to this video for inspiration
YES! 100%, this is a seriously encouraging video!! I'm off to create something amazing out of sticks now!
i’m gonna throw a rock at 😳😳😳🥑👍
*when u wanna go shoppin but yo mama says you got materials at home:*
She looks like a nature spirit whose land got taken over by a waste dump and is making the most of it! It doesn't sound like a compliment but it is. She's got an adorable can-do charm about her which I adore.
What the hell, she turned out super adorable??? I was literally #DONE at the skewer needle part, you are awesome, haha
Celtic Botan's Digital Art Hey Celtic! I really love your Digital art.
And uh... that aside, I agree with you! I didn't think she'd go as far as that
Celtic Botan's Digital Art I LOVE YOU
You weren't kidding about the budget part... Great video!
What she said: "so today I'm making a *budget* doll!"
What I hear : *turning trash into a beautiful doll*
*I’ll just use my husband’s hair!*
This vid is like “I’m stuck in the woods but I wanna customise a doll”
CubeB 12 that’s my friend everyone
This is the definition for “ on a budget”
Nobody:
Dollightful: “Did you really think I was going to cut off my own hair, nah.
I’m gonna cut off my husbands!”
I’d love to see you make this doll again, just not on a budget. Using all of your professional supplies and all that jazz.
Now I know how to customize a doll even if I'm stranded on an island. This is good.
"i'm poor"
"don't worry i'll show you how to customize without wasting money!"
takes it too seriously to the point she made her own paint brush and needles

LIKE MY COMMENT!!!!!!!!!!!!
Or if you don't,YOU ARE HOMELESS!!!!!!!!!
She gives me the vibe that she would live in an orphanage for part-beast children or something and i love ittttt omg
also this made me a lot more confident that i can still customize dolls with limited materials, especially the lack of sealant, but i don't think i'll be needing to make voodoo brushes or homemade needles (lmao), although i respect the sentiment that almost anyone can make a doll like this with whatever they find around the house, as well as being more eco-friendly. i actually have a faceless doll that i want to decorate so i'll definitely be using your wonderful advice!
thank youu
Hope you don't mind me stealing the Half-Beast Orphanage idea for a story lol

I stumbled across your channel today after deciding I wanted to buy a MH doll and paint her, however I'm downsizing so I was worried about holding onto too many art supplies. You've shown me not to be afraid of letting go of those, and the true value of DIY. Thank you I love your videos and your character designs please keep it up!
Would love to see more MacGyver type customs like this! It's really fun waiting to see what you come up with on the fly.
Dollightful: so we need to sew clothes

Dollightful:I'm going to sharpen this toothpick

Me: You can get a pack of brushes from the dollar store for really cheap.
Katherine: Too expensive I'll just make my own with my husband's hair.
And cats!
Or if your alone like me, you use your own hair T-T
god, and you can get a tiny sewing kit for like $2
Not creepy at all. . . . . .and totes doesn't sound so, so messed up

Dude... as someone who compulsively hordes the “treasures” i find outside and all the art supplies I’ve ever been given ever and random trash from packages and other various things and tons of clothes and old sheets and such, I have an ENTIRE ROOM of random things I could make AWESOME custom dolls with... and a whole box of 20 - 30 year old Barbies in the basement.... hmmm, looks like I have a new hobby to try out
PS.
Thanks, and have an amazing weekend!
Yes! PLEASE DO! I would love to see!
Makeup made for human faces usually has a bit of oil to it, and might not work well on vinyl. Powder type makeup (not made as a cake type, just loose powder) would probably work best

This is a fantastic idea, not only for being thrifty, but for always looking for ways to make horns and accessories without having to use epoxy putty or worbla! I adore the horns - they are so successful, says the Capricorn person who loves goat horns on dolls! You were my first customizer to follow two years ago and I still find your videos informative while you even show us when you fail at something and find a work-around to make it work. Truly, a master at figuring out both the structure and the details! Love you, @Dollightful!
You are always so inspiring and ceative! I adore this doll, and I will surely recommend this video to people who want to get into doll customizing, but are short on cash.
Thanks for another informative and entertaining custom.

I am now disappointed in myself :') Those stitches made with a toothpick are better than me with a sewing machine... side note.... I actually accidentally broke that sewing machine.
At least you can kinda sew! XD I tried a few times and ended up burying my mother's kit deep under the bathroom sink.
Mabellu girl I feel your pain, personally I believe sewing machines hate me
im scared my finger or something will get caught in a sewing machine so I avoid using them
It takes practice that's all. You can do it! :D

Thank you my dear. When I was a child this was how we did things, it was lovely to remember. Necessity may be the mother of invention, but it is that thirst and hunger for creative play that took us little poverty kids on quests for new doll and toy materials. I think this little girl captures that spirit.
