One lesson that I recently learned in my garden is that the hover, sweat flies will lay their eggs on plants and the larvae will eat aphids. So they are super important not only for pollinating but for keeping down the pest population. One thing to note is the larvae look like a slug/worm. I almost mistook it for sawfly larvae ( which are very destructive to plants). I paused in removing them because I noticed none of the leaves were eaten. So, I did a Google search and found a pic of syrphid fly larvae. Bingo!! Within weeks the aphids were totally gone on my roses without resorting to any sprays. Now, I make sure I have plenty of daisy-like flowers for them to enjoy! Thank you for your informative videos!!
