Great video... Another note. A lot of the motors fail in the UP position. It helps to remove all the screws holding in the regulator. You can then move the regulator down a bit. This helps to access the window clips. Then make sure the window is still in the tracks, keeping the window straight. If the window is pushed outwards it is impossible to unclip it. I used a putty knife. I opened up the gears on the motor, full of water and rust. I believe there was water in the motor from the factory.
KD- I post-mortemed my old regulator. The gears and motors were rusty. That's gotta be in the motor before it's assembled. The inside of my door had no rust or moisture in it. Chinese regulator came over on a boat?
How do you diagnose what needs to be replaced? Is the regulator and motor modular? What about the switch. I think my motors dead and I'm hoping I can just swap the motor assembly. Watching your video makes me think I cannot. Fml 😅
Jon- if memory serves, the motor CAN be disassembled from the regulator assembly and replaced. The motor is what failed in mine. I had already purchased the regulator and was in a hurry so I did not try to replace the motor. But, later I did a postmortem and the motor was all rusty. I bet it could have been resurrected. Seems like I have heard of folks replacing just the motor. Good luck!
Thank you very much. I found a video where you can isolate the motor and swap. Your blind when you unscrew it but it's very doable. Will attempt it as soon as the weather clears and the funds show up!

You should of just took the window out to make it more easy on yourself......great work tho!
