john m I fly Caravans for a survey company. My pilots licenses, radio operator permit, medical certs etc are worn around my neck with an Iron Maiden lanyard. Saw Maiden last week and they opened with Aces High. I was shaking like fangirl. I needed a minute.

I saw Iron Maiden in Indianapolis this year!! After 35 years of being a fan finally got to see them. If you ever get a chance to see Iron Maiden, do it!! It’s definitely not your typical Heavy Metal concert. Up the irons!!🤘🏻🤘🏻

When I was 15, Piece of Mind was just released. That single album shaped my life. Bruce's voice is legendary.
My Dad was a big fan when I was growing up. He would pick me up and pretend I was his guitar.

I can tell Bruce isn’t currently working as a commercial pilot as he’s got that awful raggy ponytail! (And yes I’m a rocker/metalhead but we all grew up and cut our hair, including Bruce) Bruce and I are from towns In Nottinghamshire, England, just 30 miles away from each other. He’s 12 years older than me tho.
He looked so handsome and smart when he worked for Astraeus. I hadn’t realised how long ago that was as he’s gone grey but he must be 60 yo now, WOW 😮
First concert I ever went to was to see Iron Maiden in Nottingham in 1986... I will never forget “EDDIE” and even named one of my sons after “it”.

There needs to be a special episode of, well, anything which features Bruce Dickinson and Harrison Ford at Oshkosh just walking and talking and maybe flying some planes. The plane over the stage reminds me of the Motorhead Bomber too!
And he still wear his Royal Norwegian Air Force 338 sqn. patch, with the yellow lightning he got at the Vaernes Airshow in Trondheim, Norway in 2014 :-)

I turned 50 yesterday. It is amazing to think that I have been listening to that band since 1983 and haven't stopped. Saw Bruce on his solo tours as well. He has simply been making the best music for most of my life. Which is to say that most of my life has been that much better. Love Iron Maiden. Always will.
Bruce is a star - but I also think you are Mikey, you have given me so much pleasure in watching Plane Savers. What more can I say! I really looked forward each morning to have coffee and sit down to watch Plane Savers... You and the volunteers, Ronnie etc achieved the impossible -think Canada should award you...

Bruce is such an amazing guy and if by chance you see this thank you for appearing in the video and autographing those things to help with the Triplane. It will help with things more than you know Also aviation is one of the few places where people like Bruce can escape and just be a normal person.

Very cool guy’s. I’m a 777 pilot , on a layover in Japan, watching this. I’m also a huge Maiden fan , having seen Bruce live for the first time on The Number Of The beast tour in Toronto Canada, plus many more times since. I was also at the concert in Calgary that night with my two boy’s, first time for them .Amazing show as always. Thanks for sharing this . UP THE IRONS.👨✈️🤘🏼

I'm about to quit my job and pursue a career in aviation thanks to Plane Savers. Your videos lit *my* face up daily for 6 months and made me feel good and I thank you for that. Hopefully in a few short years I'll have a commercial pilots license and a FAA A&P certification if things go the way I'm wanting them too.

Great to see Captain Bruce in his other element,I met him a couple of times when I worked at MAN when he Captained the Astralius 737:s a number of years ago,real nice guy.Nice episode Mikey thank you.
He actually ended up getting promoted on the 757. I’m not sure if he ever captained our 737s. He was the guy that wrote our yearly 757 tech refresher - he loved all that stuff

For a VFR panel that weather in Edmonton looked a little marginal, and it sounded like you had to do a little hunting to get back below coming into Calgary. Good thing you had experienced pilots!

And I still have a hard time understanding how it was possible to get the DC3 airworthy within 56 days - I watched many episodes and one engine was replaced as far as I remember, and thanks to the war production parts for DC3 (or rather C47) are abundant.
Now that felt like i was actually there!! Lol deja VU! Awesome job! And Thank You so very much from us! for the experience! Mikey! Still have a tear!! Thank you JOE for the coolest time ever! I've always loved Iron Maiden and it's been a couple or so decades since I've seen them. The last time was in Spokane WA at "The Boone Street Barn". Memories😀 Thanks for adding a personal touch.
All this DC-3 flying made me remember the most amazing flying by a DC-3 I had ever seen. BTW, The DC-3 was the first airplane I ever got off the ground in, on an airline trip from Williamsport, PA to Philadelphia when I was about 5 in 1953. Fast forward to June, 1972 when we had a real disaster on our hands when Tropical Storm Agnes came to the area dropping 14 + inches of rain on the already saturated mountain and valley terrain of North central Pennsylvania. A couple days after the flood on a Sunday morning I was in my 12X60 trailer and heard a loud roar approaching. I ran outside in time to see a DC-3 at about 100 feet above the tree tops, spraying chemicals to kill an expected mosquito outbreak. Look on Google Earth for the Pine Creek Valley situated between Avis, PA and Jersey Shore, PA. Do you see where it comes between two mountains to the flat lands to the South? I was on the west bank of that stream. The DC-3 was going South to North and headed directly for the mountain on the left. Just as I was sure it would crash into the wooded hillside, the pilot, who obviously was an old hand, pulled up and did a low speed hammerhead stall turn to the left, not more than two wing lengths from zero to 180 degrees the other way. I never thought he would make the turn without falling into the woods. But it was perfect and he pulled out all lined up for the next pass, offset to the right. I can still picture the full power, full rich exhaust blasting over the nacelles and center section of the wings.
Ask your Dad if he ever tried anything like that. (Crop dusting in a DC-3.)

Bruce is ace. At Sonisphere Festival 2014 (Knebworth, UK - now defunct unfortunately) He flew his own replica Fokker triplane in a mock dogfight above the arena to commemorate the start of World War 1. He played with Maiden later that night. Incredible experience.
