@towbsss thank you. I just wanted to know how do you time your small jumps during rallies? Does it come automatically after a lot of training or do you jump at a specific point when the bird leaves opponent racket?
@shankhadatta The timing in doubles is different from singles (at least that's how I see it) for the split step. In doubles, you will need to do it sooner, approximately right when your opponent hits the shuttle. In singles, I find there is a bit more of a delay, and the split is after they hit, to prevent deception. Since you only have two corners to cover in doubles and most shots are fast and hard, you need to be ready sooner. However, I would like to add that this is quite individual, as there are many factors that affect timing of the jump, but this is the way I approach this concept ✌🏼
Hi Toby, will you be able to give some tips on doubles footwork?
I don't really have plans on teaching in a video, but if you have a specific question, I could see if I can help.

@@towbsss awesome!! Thank you so much!!
What racket do you use? new subscriber here.
For general use, I have a range of rackets but I'm currently using the Yonex Nanoflare 800. For serious tournaments, Yonex Arc Saber 10 😬
@@towbsss oh wow, a fellow arc saber 10 user. thought i'm the last of our kind. hahaha ~ why NF800? is it similar?
@@kweej23 NF800 is head light, so it helps with defense because it's less effortful than smashing 🤣
Toby, stop looking so lackadaisical 😄
I was pretty sore and wasn't sure if I could play through without cramping. Then I realized I was okay, but it was too late 😅
