Really he doesn't look 91. Hardly anyone of his generation specially in journalism could be still there to talk without being afraid.
Muslims in kashmir has lost narrative because of bad economical condition in pakistan. They have come to realise that it is is not in the best interest of kashmir to align with pakistan.
Other narrative is self rule or independence for j&k which is impossible.All neighbours of india like pakistan/ bangladesh/ srilanka/Afghanistan have totally failed and therefore there is no option left for independence. As regards 370 it was giving bad signal and hence its removal was good in the larger interest of governance. The only thing they achieved was ethenisical cleaning of all kasshmiri pandits in one stroke. It is only religious mind set that shows that Muslims can't live in harmony with other communities
