I really loved the 2021 version of Anna and Yoh because in the manga they really were like this. They were more open to their feelings and they showed more depth in their relationship.
13 years old me most likely did not get what happened here back in 2001 lmao I just remembered this anime as a wholesome shounen with minimal romantic scenes.
The Manga and 2021 Anime have more romantic scenes between Yoh and Anna than the 2001 Anime. There is even a Flashback Arc that show how Yoh met Anna in the Manga. It will be adapted in the 2021 Anime.

If either one of them was unhappy with the arrangement, they'd sigh and just try and find someone else for Yoh. This is why I like their relationship more in THIS version than the original anime adaptation.
