Interesting story. Coral reefs are dying at an alarming rate. I’ve seen it. The most beautiful place on this planet that I’ve ever seen was a coral reef on the North Shore of O’ahu. 20 years ago, I snorkeled there and the reef was spectacular beyond description. A couple of years ago, I went back with eager anticipation. What I found this time was a grey, lifeless and dead reef. I cannot help but wish these guys luck. I have to support them. Desperate times call for desperate measures.

I was about to comment they aren't respecting social distancing but then I saw comments that says this is a rerun
So: when the water temperature in that area rises, coral will continue to die. But in places with cold water, there will be an opportunity for coral to grow, right? Like Scotland, where there's been coral for a few hundred years? It's not that coral is dying, it's just moving
They cannot move that much, as high light levels, clear water and hard substrate are required.
Of course nature adapts and this logic that climate change will just kill everything is plain idiotic. However this adaptation process won't be pretty. We are very used to our current way of life and big changes will cost lives in all species, incl. humans.
It's the butterfly effect in action.

Is it possible that moving reefs out of the ocean, into aquariums, reef farms, and even homes could harbor those species that we know are almost certainly going to be lost from climate change? So that in the coming centuries we could repopulate our oceans when they return to a habitable state. Obviously this suggests that we get our act together in terms of environmental pollution, climate restoration and so on. But wouldn't policy and follow through like that be better than permanently losing the millions of species we're predicted to lose in the next 50 years?

The photos of the damaged island wasnt even Grand Bahama, those were pictures from Abaco, Grand Bahama is in great shape
I'm thinking the damage imagery is not recent. The stuff with the tanks is probably from drone flyover sometime towards the end of last year. It's not like Grand Bahama east of Freeport looks that different from Abaco outside the developed areas.

Honestly I am thinking of watching as many environmentalist videos, categorize them, put them in lists and then maybe If I get the guts, I would send emails to people who know about the stuff about how to make everything better and using that maybe send it to my friends to bring them into the cause? or send it to someone else? This would definitely go into the list.
What videos should be included? Everything from Forrest regrowth to pyrolysis. Oceans and Earth.
Also what are some ways one can get the name of different scientists? I quite don't wanna have to read in the essays looking for every name on references related to those places.?(related to the essays).
They will ignore you and don't do jack shit about it. Most governments and stuff already have specialistst in them who know these kind of things and they are ignored too.
In the Canary Islands there are way too many diadema urchins while in the caribbean there is a lack of them. Collaborate both parts of the atlantic!

I don't agree. If they can find heat resistant corals to regrow, they may actually prevent the extinction of corals, especially if the regrown corals continue to adapt.
Maybe corals will develop "herd immunity" ...

I can’t believe this video and the comment section are ignoring the main issue: ocean acidification, which happens when CO2 dissolves into the ocean. Replanting coral ain’t going to do shit, for a more adequate analogy they are basically planting plants in Clorox.
Not at all, I work here, check the drone footage of us getting the tanks in the bush it's my footage they put my name on it for proof. We have a lab where we put certain corals under extreme stresses whether temperature, acidity, etc and filter out the weak ones. The strong will be used as super corals and those are the ones we promote. There are so many factors into saving a reef, especially here where our biggest current issue is a viral outbreak. Corals are far more resilient than you think, but some issues like having a viral outbreak is when you get algae covering the corals which kills them and decreases settlement space and reproduction. In a healthy reef, you get organisms like urchins and parrotfish which keep the algae at bay but if through overfishing or habitat degradation there's not many of them the reefs might not bounce back. Bonaire's reefs are a good example since they've hardly changed from what they look like in the 70's and that's largely due to their healthy reef population. By planting more and more we can try and circumvent such issues since recruitment during such stressors is very difficult, and our farm offers next to no stresses that they would experience in the reef.

@Dreamstate not at all, I work here, check for my name bottom left of the drone footage for proof. We get paid through company's like carnival cruises or virgin or other big companies which, for instance in the bahamas, if you destroy a certain amount of habitat you have to re-plant twice as much somewhere else, they're called ecological services. Carnival wants to build a massive resort here on the island and that means they need to pay a certain amount to make up for the amount of habitat they destroy, we're already looking at a minimum of $2 Mil for that maybe more, and that's one company, there's many others which need to pay ecological services as well, and they come to us.

Climate change is not responsible for the depleted coral reefs around Grand Bahama. 80% of those reefs were destroyed by dredging the creation of over a hundred canals (which introduced freshwater to those corals).

India also has lost vast swathes of forests due to growing p0pulation and urbanisation in recent decades, as a result- Endangered elephants and tigers are k.illing one person a day in India as humans continue to encroach on the little habitat that these animals have left.
The Earth is overpopulated. We humans have built cities and took almost all wildlife habitat away. I'm from Colorado, USA and mountain lions and bears are routinely being tranquilized & killed because we humans have invaded the little habitats these wild animals have left. And it's only getting worse.
If you care then dont repr0duce. Even Wealthy, tall, extremely good looking, blue/green eyed men like Leonardo DiCaprio, Grant Gustin, Jake Gyllenhaal, Robert Pattinson, Jared Leto did not repr0duce any kids.
