I’m not paying $40 for the same type of figure mold, no extra hands, head swaps, painless body…etc… Nope, Mcfarlane had my respect because McFarlane toys is not a publicly traded company so Todd kept things reasonably priced. Since he now has the Hasbro agreement, there really is no real competition so…..
Last year when I made a comment telling people not to expect $20 McFarlane, DC multiverse figures last long. They were laughing at me because it was in fashion to bash Hasbro and they were calling me a Hasbro apologist or-a Hasbro “shill” Then the prices went up to 2499 no extra head sculpt very few figures came with extra hands. Some came with comic books like the page puncher, and some of them just came with the card and nothing else and people were still justifying it that it was still better than Hasbro. The collectors edition that was fire, on some but with some still not sure if it was justified the 24 $25 just for the extra hands same thing with wonder woman figure but then you look at Hawkman $29 just for the mace and I’m like is that price justifiable? But at $40 I don’t care what anyone says that’s insane whether it’s in-house or mass market $40 for basically a figure and nothing else and then the crazy shipping and handling prices inexcusable unacceptable especially in in this day and age that prices have gone up on everything from movie theaters to streaming services . Just no sorry I’ll stick with Neca and Hasbro and will still be cherry picking.

I'm with you, man. I have an amazing collection of DC and Marval. I stepped back and seldom buy Mcfarlane. I spend a little more but buy fewer figures. These unofficial figures on places like 5k are where I'm at now. For Mcfarlane stuff, I hate the exclusives like dark flash and that whole wave. If I don't find it for the right price, I just didn't need it. Veteran William Master Wang the Warbears that big ass Hyde figure. That's where I'm at. And heck, you can find Neca on sale all over to.
Yeah that's what I do I find a sale that I like and that makes sense. It's not like I have to get it right away. Everything eventually goes on sale and you will eventually find what you're looking for sooner or later. I know this as a retro collector
Damn Right! They look cheap af with almost no paint job whatsoever. Especially Kid Flash looks like a lazy a.s prototype with loose diaper, thick rim moon boots and an adult squarehead instead of a juvenile, skinny nerdy one. I started collecting McFarlane with the Black Knight Spawn of the Dark Ages 11 Line, i can not make that quality of back in the day unseen. That cash grab BAF sh.t is a very, very, very far cry from these days and an insult to every faithful McFarlane Collector. Only morons or masochists can not feeling betrayed by that lack of quality and the excess of price quantity! The hike season started with Monolith (+25%), then the Collectors Edition-Line (+50%) and now the Build a figure-line (+60%) and with King Spawn for 50 bucks (what is insanity too) the cash grab path for normal/ deluxe figures is paved. Tough to swallow for a Toddfather fanboy like me but he has officially thrown us under the bus and became a sellout! No toy robin hoodery anymore, just empty words and cash grab. I’ve noticed more and more toy reviewers that are our age saying the same thing and coming to the same conclusion that I’ve come to on my own over the last 6 months: we don’t need these. It’s an addiction. I’ve collected for years. I’ve unloaded tons of stuff but I still have more. We can’t take it with us when we go and we’re leaving piles of stuff for our loved ones to go through when we die and some of us are at the age to have early health problems that lead to that. I need to purge but I just can’t relinquish everything yet. I’m about to get a routine health check up but it might wind up changing my views on collecting all this crap. I think about the money I wasted
Imagin doubling the price on a line of super heroes with the most rinky dinky ratatouille proportions, paint done by a 2 year old and articulation thats on par with a statue
I think I saw mcfarlane posted a statement about why the prices went up , something to do with them being website exclusive because target cancelled the line.
yeah I heard the same thing but I am also addressing the $30 exclusive figures with the trading card stand which makes it $10 more. LOL I definitely do think they're going to go open price in the next year.

Mcfarlane figures aren’t worth 20$. They have the worst articulation, they can barely stand up on their own, they come with no accessories. Mcfarlane quality isn’t close to Hasbro. And none of what Hasbro has sold has been 40$ unless it’s a deluxe figure. None of these Mcfarlane figures are deluxe.

I'm not crying about it. I've been selective for the past year now and this is just going to turn off a lot of buyers and open people's eyes. I definitely do think there's going to be a change coming soon because collectors are just tired of mediocre toys. I think more people are going to be turned off from collecting because of the prices. It's just not me complaining.

I'm not going to lie GI Joe classified are really good but it's a deep dark collecting hole I don't want to go down. LOL hopefully Hasbro keeps them at a reasonable price for the sake of GI Joe collectors

There only a little over a hundred figures which is relatively small compared to marvel legends or dc McFarland and we have vehicles coming to just food for thought the Joe teams kills it on every figure and a deluxe is a deluxe there worth it well 9 out10 times they are. Hey I'm used buy dc universe then McFarland took it over and I got out because I like having my marvel and dc the same size not that they aren't good toys but no guns with them sucks so I only collect gi Joe now might try monster force but gi Joe is my main line as long as you enjoy dude good for you but I chose Joes YoJoe

It's an expensive hobby and it's a dumb hobby to have. It's kind of like anything once you get into it it's hard to escape from collecting.
