everyone talking about her amazing voice and yes it’s undeniably BEAUTIFUL but can we appreciate the *acting* omg like she makes it so believable. i know broadway only accepts the best but she really connects with the song. even some professionals who have been in the business for decades struggle to do that. THIS is what you call acting through song
I blame the producers. She totally deserved the Featured Actress category in this show but the producers were putting them up for Leading, when neither her role nor Megan Hilty's were big enough to be considered that so neither of them were nominated. But she clearly deserved it and her performance in Drood was totally worthy of one as well, I'm glad she was recognized, well after it closed.
respectfully, as someone that is currently doing Judy in a semi prof production, her and Doralee are almost in every scene. They are definitely leading roles. Yes, Violet is the one that has a bit more dialogue and singing material but still...There are basically no musicals with three female leads and this is definitely one.
holy crap. I've been a fan of the Blockster on youtube for a while. I had no idea that I saw her in 9 to 5. I guess I wasn't aware of her greatness then
@@TheNotoriousDUDE Same here, as Dick also in German. I have to admit that i feel awful, when our Judy going to sing that song to me. And of course i'll have to try very hard not singing too! Good luck man with the show. Grüß

I think about this performance at least once a day. It was life altering. I was so grateful to have witnessed her performing this live. She had the audience on their feet. She is a powerhouse, a superstar, a Broadway legend.
I need help!!! I love this performance and I'm a huge SJB fan, we both belonged to a non-profit performing group called The Young Americans, she in the 90's and me starting in '08. She's really a huge inspiration to me! But does anyone know what happened to the video of their final performance on B'way?? While this one is amazing, the final performance of this song will bring you to tears... she just doesn't hold back and you feel her pain and her sudden panic, then immense joy in this character... through a TH-cam video!! I was balling the first time I watched it and I'm not a crier. I'm on the hunt for that recording!!
In th new West End production she’s singing this song outside the door. I thought it was odd when I saw it but now that I’m seeing this I realise it doesn’t make sense ! Haha
@lcowles Stephan Schwartz originally wrote the part for Elphaba for Stephanie but the producer did not know how well the show would do so they wanted a person who had a known name play the part. That's why Idnia Menzel got the part.
I don't remember that guy when I saw this on Broadway... perhaps the guy playing her douchey husband changed? What a great musical... I'm glad I got the chance to see it on Broadway, and thankful for the chance to relive some of it here. I have the album but it's not quite the same as seeing them!!!
@puppypoo1978 She is taking control. She makes him listen to everything she has to say and she dismisses him rather than him leaving her. He does nothing without her permission including his final exit.
Her costume is very Wendy Darling
Or Eliza from Hamilton (act 2)
She belts those notes like they are nothing. It is like second nature to her. She is AWESOME!
Whoever has something negative to say about Stephanie J Block can address me directly.
YES
agreed
Don’t waste your time on people with no class.
Seriously! Like she is perfection. Period.
BIG MOOD
3:07....the way she goes from a blend to a full belt HOLY CRAP
I think all of her roles were worthy of a Tony nomination. I am glad she was FINALLY recognized this year at the Tonys. :)
BroadwayDork and now she has a Tony

When you're winning the break-up
CHILLS. She is a goddess.
Her dress reminds me of Eliza Hamilton
Daniel Saldo you mean eliza hamilton reminds you of judy?
yea this was around 6-7 years before hamilton
The fact that Dolly wrote one of the musical theatre torch song BANGERS of the entire decade on her first ever show. Legend. Ur fave could never.
Stephanie J Block is phenomenal.
That moment at 2:12 where Stephanie take a step towards his jacket shows him she means business and it is so glorious.
she's amazing
and it's the best brek-up song ever
I want nothing more in this life to be yel-sung at by Stephanie J Block.
This performance changed my life. Literally. I was in school and saw this show 5 times and the cast could not have been more perfect- especially SJB
Stephanie J. Block is a literal goddess and if you dont agree fight me.
Anyone who disagrees is just denying facts and that's on belting
Those 3 dislikes must be accidental or lame boys whose girlfriends kicked them out. The other option is they are just haters!
Dolly Parton wrote a wonderful song (as always).
holy crap. I've been a fan of the Blockster on youtube for a while. I had no idea that I saw her in 9 to 5. I guess I wasn't aware of her greatness then
You saw her live and didn't even realize it? LOL jealous.
she is the new Patti lupone she is amazing at what she does and the tonys don't recognize it
Imagine singing this song of empowerment on Broadway 8 times a week 🙌🏻✨🖤
lol im playing Dick in our school production and standing there whist she belts is a pain bc its such a catchy tune I wanna sing goddamnit
I'll probably be cast as him (or Hart, hopefully) here in Germany this fall and I'm sure I'll have the same problem on stage :'D

What a phenomenal woman.
Is there anyone more perfect?! I'm so drawn in by her voice
Lyrics
I used to need you, but then I finally learned
I used to want you, but now the tables turned
I used to love you, now it's your time to squirm
I'm saying goodbye and I won't wait for your return
So get out and stay out, I've finally had enough
Don't kiss me on your way out, it wouldn't move me much
You used me, abused me, you cheated and you lied
So get out and stay out, I'm taking back my life
I wonder what you'll do when I am not around
Now that your new love has up and let you down
You've always come crying to me throughout the years
To mend another broken heart, to dry your selfish tears
So get out and stay out, I'm moving on at last
'Cause I've been so foolish, but that was in the past
I never thought I'd be the one to say goodbye
So get out and stay out, I'm taking back my life
Dreams and plans are in the making
Success is out there for the taking
Wish it was as simple as it sounds
I have no choice
I have to do it
Face the future and walk into it
Now that I'm unfettered and unbound
get out and stay out, I've finally had enough
Don't kiss me on your way out, it wouldn't move me much
You used me, abused me, you cheated and you lied
So get out and stay out, I'm taking back my life
I'm taking back my life
Taking back my life
