At risk of sounding cliche, I have to say that I'm sure your parents are proud of you. You're very articulate and I have found your tips to be very helpful. Keep them coming!
As always, listening to you speak about creativity and writing is like walking into a dark theatre of ghosts and traces, wisps of foggy memories, and then switching on a special light that reveals all of them at once. I shared these ideas with an 86-year-old fine artist who had been beaten down by the long winter of aging-she picked up her camera and went for a walk with the sole purpose of seeing 'light '. She is painting again! Thank you.
Allowing myself to write for my inner child is something I've always needed but avoided giving myself permission to do. Same with being a selfish writer. You give really helpful advice, great work!
6:12 When I struggle with problem-solving, I get up and accomplish something around the house. I think about what I'm trying to solve. Going over all the information in my head and how it's not matching up while asking important questions helps me solve it faster.
Truly an inspirational look on how to become the best writer possible, and without a doubt the best advice I have ever seen on the platform. I only wish you more luck with the other amazing videos you will produce in the future.
This is exactly what I needed to hear. So clear so simple yet I often forget because I'm too busy making it all very complicated. Thank you!❤ I think I'm going to listen to this every morning from now on. Just to remind myself. As a new mantra.
I hope by the time your next video pops out ill let you know my first short short story is finish. The people at my workplace make the most diverse cast of characters, and based on conversations during breakfast.
Do you have any tips on how to find workarounds for 2, 4, and 11 for people who can't go out into the world because of a disability or disease?😅 I've been stressing about this for a long time. How am I supposed to write something as simple as my character ordering coffee if I've never so much as walked into a coffee shop?
Introversion?....Nah!....It's Introspection indeed. Though 90% of the world thinks of introverts as naive and timid, they are busier discovering themselves than judging others as extroverted or introverted. So what we all need to do is stop talking and begin doing...Let yourself be the center of your own attention!!
@@Justjay-y9f It's about twin brothers, who were separated as children by a fire. One grew up on the streets all alone, and became the best thief in the city, and the other is a royal guard. They both end up finding out about a plan to destroy their kingdom, and as no one will believe them, have to work together to save it.
I believe so, since you're still going outside to get some sunlight, exercise, and fresh air; not to mention getting away momentarily from screens and other distractions so you can focus on your thoughts.
🤣 Haha, fair enough. I shot and edited most of this video several months ago while in an experimental phase. I do prefer to let shots breathe a little more nowadays.

I find that listening to running water (showering, washing dishes, shaving) makes the muse active.
3:15 I liked the division of attention when you said "the more divided your attention is..." . God/Devil is in the small details jajaja
Also the "write pulitzer prize speech" 😛
Great video. Keep up the good work ❤
Brilliant!

Open the windows and put away your phone/electronic and look outside the window. Just observe your surroundings❤

0:03 you've been writing since you were six
Yep, I started writing fiction around 6. I wrote my first full-length novel when I was 7, and I'm 19 now (so 12 years of writing novels).
@@graysontaylornyc Wow. I'm 15 and writing my first book!
