For sale is a 1972 Mercury Cougar. This car came out of Fresno, CA and has had the same owner for over 16 years. This is a very dry car that offers very minimal rust. It is an excellent candidate for restoration. The body is finished in a blue exterior with a blue original interior. This was a quite rare color combination that really stands out. The body is straight and free of any accidents. All the gaps are perfect. The interior is all original. Mechanically it does run and drive. It offers the 351 Cleveland with all the options available at the time. Power steering, power brakes and A/C! The motor runs strong but has a slight lifter noise in one cylinder. I have not tried putting any type of mister oil but I suspect it just needs a valve job. I do not have the time to work on it. Rebuilt carburetor. The transmission shifts through all its gears well. The brakes are in good shape. It doesn't overheat or blow a lot of smoke in the back. The floors are perfect. No rust has ever been there in the past.
