Album Review - ESCAPE Serene Fantasies - 8/10 Good opening track, mixing was really good, I liked the piano. Transition to Confines of Thought went hard. Confines of Thought - 9/10 This was definitely the best way the album could move forward from Serene Fantasies. Used the same instruments very well, then introduced a few new elements. Reminded me of the Celeste OST which is always good. I thought the drums wouldn't fit well at first, but they worked perfectly. ESCAPE - 7.5/10 This track is going in a very different direction from the first couple, but it works well. Beat drops felt underwhelming. The first half of the track is probably a 6/10 for me, but it greatly improved in the latter half. It felt a lot more energetic and sounded better. I think this one will grow on me as I continue listening. Regular Intermission - 9.5/10 This is EASILY my favorite on the album. Typically I perfer slower and more calm songs, but this works perfectly. Actually just sounds so damn good. Uneasy Feeling - 8.5/10 This song felt offputting towards the beginning tbh. Then the beat dropped and it went from one of my least favorite tracks to one of my favorites. Insane switch up, don't know how I didn't see it coming. And the piano at the end worked so well. Very impressive work Mr. ZeroSkill sir. Inevitable Doom - 6/10 I was expecting this one to have some mid-song switch that improved it for me like ESCAPE and Uneasy Feeling, but it didn't. Don't fully know what I didn't like about this one, but it missed the mark in my mind. Ventures of Thought - 9/10 The (I believe) sequel/resolution to Confines of Thought hits just as hard, if not harder. This sounds like boss music in all the correct ways. Sounds so grand and powerful, bells work perfectly. Intimidating, and beautiful. Leads perfectly into the conclusion, Prologue. Prologue - 9.7/10 Regular Intermission is my favorite song on this album, but Prologue is the best song. I don't know what it is about endings that are so beautiful to me, but this is it. This is a *perfect* conclusion to ESCAPE. I hold the belief that there is no perfect song, but there can be a perfect conclusion. This finishes everything that the album has started. And the name Prologue stands out to me. Because while this is the end of ESCAPE, there is much to come. If there is a story this album tells, it's a story of freedom. ESCAP-ing the Confines of Thought (I hate puns) lets the music Venture forth, because that's what this is. A prologue to a greater story of freedom. And it's the greatest Prologue ever made. Or I missed the point entirely. Like 70-30 chance I got it :3 Full Album Rating Song Average - 8.4/10 ESCAPE - 9.2/10 I love this album. This is the second highest I've ever rated an album without lyrics. But this album didn't need lyrics to tell a beautiful story. This is exemplary for any music. Incredible work
This album truly tells a story without saying a word. Prologue is my favorite - something I’d expect to hear in a high budget Hollywood film. Amazing work. You should be proud of what yourself and what you put out into the world.
