Luffy basically stole a road map to the one piece from one of the most powerful pirates just 30 episodes ago
He actually stole one piece, of a map to One Piece.
In the almost 1000 episodes of One Piece, Luffy has done 2 things of any significance towards discovering One Piece, getting his Fleet and the 1/4 piece of map that leads towards it, both of which happened relatively recently. So going by that math, it'll take him another 3k episodes before he gets all 4 pieces of the map and another 1k to actually go about finding it.
30 EPISODES IS A WHOLE ASS SEASON

The Ash-Greninja thing went a little far, mega evolution was already a big step back then.
But it was not as terrible as transition from ''Sinnoh League Victors'' to ''Black & White''.
In DP ("The Semi-Final Frontier") Ash's Septile defeats a Darkrai, and Pikachu ties a Latios, which is earned because DP series went on for so long.
But then in B&W ("In the Shadow of Zekrom!") Pikachu get's schooled by a level 5 Snivy.
They do that every series, kinda resetting the levels and experiences for Ash and Pikachu.
It wasn't even like dude had snivy awhile & hadn't evolved it, dude was just starting out & he bodied Ash.
