In season 4 the character of brenda was left aside in favor of the character of kelly, kelly was present in almost all the plots, for me since the first episode the heart of beverly hills has always been the friendship and the rivalry that could exist between brenda and kelly, after brenda left for london, the series became boring

i don't think jim and cindy were bad parents at all. i think they were good parents, its just that they treated brandon differently than brenda in terms of independence. brandon could bring them so many problems,he could be with a different girl in every single episode but at the end of the episode they had already forgiven him or act like nothing happened. when it came to brenda though they were judging every single move that she did especially when it came to dylan. jim was always complaining about dylan being a bad guy,a bad influence on brenda, about dylan's problems etc and yeah dylan was troublemaker but he trusted and loved the walsh family. it was such a nice time when jim was there for dylan but then he completely forgot about his nice attitude towards him and he became so toxic. he didn't let brenda to see dylan,he sent brenda to paris and after than her relationship with dylan was destroyed. thank god brenda and dylan stayed so close though i am thankful for that. anyways,i think jim and cindy and especially cindy really cared for dylan and they both loved their kids so much but the favortism towards brandon in that topic got really annoying. it is normal that they felt more protective over brenda because she is their only daughter but she is the same age as brandon and she deserves to be treated the same way. for example when brandon was sleeping with lots of girls, cindy and jim didn't care at all but when jim learnt that brenda had slept with dylan he made it such a big deal like the world depended on it. also they never had her back. for example when brenda found out about dylan and kelly, she was really heartbroken which is so normal because 2 people that she loved and cared about had betrayed her and her parents with the rest of the gang acted like nothing happened and didn't even support her in that difficult time, not even her twin brother. the only person that actually kind of cared was donna but she still didn't support brenda the way she should have. they all told her to get over it and that it was okay. NO. IT WAS NOT OKAY. she didn't deserve the heartbreak. brenda showed that she is the bigger person when she forgave both of them. now back to jim,the fact that he told dylan to throw himself at brenda was wrong. okay yes brenda marrying a guy she barely even knew was tragic but jim didn't have to use dylan like that, not after everything. the way he couldn't stand dylan when he was dating his daughter but now he wants him to be with her makes no sense. i get why brenda is upset but i get why jim did it too. i feel like no one really was there for brenda and really understood her but then dylan came to the picture and she felt some kind of safety when she was with him because he understood her and then he breaks her heart,it is normal that she feels alone
