- Denmark: Cows to Pay $100 Tax For Their Burps and Farts | Firstpost America
Denmark’s government has decided to make cows pay for their gaseous contributions to climate change. Starting in 2030, dairy farmers will face an annual tax of $96 per cow for the planet-heating emissions that they generate. With this, the government aims at tackling climate head-on. This ground-breaking plan targets one of the biggest sources of emissions in the nation and promises to reshape the agricultural landscape. Experts say the estimate is that in 2030, 46 percent of the Danish emissions will be from the agricultural sector, the non-energy related emissions from the agricultural sector, so there has to be something that has to be done to reduce the emissions.

How stupid can you get: The farmers association was PART of the agreement.
A tax on food production will only raise food costs. People still have to eat. Until the point when people start dying off because they cannot afford to eat anymore. At that point there will be an actual reduction in food production and resulting number of cows. Is the intent to depopulate?

One time I was working with my dad, spraying chicken houses with pesticides for a well known manufacturer in the region, and I was parking near the farmers house after I had dropped the trailer, let the tank and four wheeler down, and parked. Across this large hilly area, there's a pasture across the road that had a gate open with cows in it. I get out of the vehicle and turn around and to my surprise there were already 30 cows behind me in the hilly yard. I went to the the farmers house in a hurry to warn him. When he opened that door and I turned around, ALL the cows went back across the road and into their pin!!! I know they knew I went to go see "daddy!!!" Right then I knew they were very smart creatures! A moment I'll never forget!
