Those were the days, my friend, we thought they'd never end...but, they did...so glad I got to live all of this as a teenager...there was nothing like it ever after that! :)
When this tour came to Denver I was in high school and my best friend had a night job as a switchboard operator at the downtown Holiday Inn. I would tag along and work with her. We were walking up to the building, past a limousine. We were both well dressed and looked like guests of the hotel. As we passed the limo we heard the window come down and saw Rod Stewart smiling at us. He asked if we would like to come to his show that night. We skipped work! We sat on the speakers. It was amazing. When I got home at 3AM there was a note on the door saying my grandmother was ill and our plane would leave at 7AM. When boarding the plane I heard Rod Stewart and band members laughing. They were sitting in first class, on the same flight to Tucson! I kept my head down and prayed nobody recognized me. My mother never knew where I had been the night before. Things always work out for me;).
Me n nick t snuck into msg nyc .nod as gd as wink tour..guy swung open doors on street n bout dozen of us flew up t stairs to the top floor n blended in..now?.im old
I wonder where this was. I seen Rod Stewart and the Faces in Frankfurt West Germany in July, August, or September of 1972. I was stationed in Weisbaden Germany which is about 20 miles or so from Frankfurt.

a band that was top of their game at this period of time, could have been bigger than the stones,
rod stewart should have taken the energy from this song and used it for his entire solo career. his raspy soulful voice is great on a quicker song
I would give anything to have been there, proper live band living the dream!
