I actually scored a new RTX 4060 Slim (gigabyte model) for ~$280USD plus taxes here in 🇦🇺 Australia. I’m using it in a htpc setup and it’s sooo tiny, quiet and great performing💪😇👍 for my gaming needs (I play new and older games on this htpc) and it does what I need it to do. My pc does the heavy lifting for new heavy UE5 titles.
the 4060 was a 50 class from matching up historic die & other specs.the performace is ok for specs but the price irks me seeing historic data.usual for nvidia.
What sucks is that they can get away with it because AMD isn't trying to compete. The RX 7600 is only $30 cheaper and about the same performance and significantly less efficient.
This is a lovely review Picked an open box one today after the new 50 series cards were announced for just over 200 gb pounds. Will suit my older build just lovely without having to upgrade the psu
Some time ago, low power meant no additional power needed. I guess nowadays low power is just 1 external power cable. Next gen low power will be 2 power cables?
This is spot on for a smaller build. Aye haters will go on about it being a single fan and "only" 8GB VRAM etc but for a SFF build for 1080/144p gaming this is going to fit the bill. If you can find one for the right price then its a steal. Thanks for sharing, Mike and Kath
mostly anyone who hates it is because of the price. well there shouldn't be any hatred, just pick whichever suit your need, like in this case a power efficiency gpu that goes for SFF build with a single fan.
When you first mention this gpu i didnt realise sff meant short, i actually thought it had to be small in height! Like the gigabyte ryx 4060 LP. Had not considered this idea. Want to build a sim size pc for when wife hoghing the tv so great to know other options available. This 4060 performs very well both in temps and fps! Thanks for sharing Mike and Kath 🐈👍
I've got this model in one of my newest builds from leftover parts. Very good card, super cool 😎 I got mine for $229 from Newegg! You gotta love open box 📦 🙌
Not bad. Almost exactly matches my MSI Gaming X RTX 2070 Super 'Twin Frozr' (@ 925mV / 1935MHz) which is pretty compact for a 2070, drawing about 50% more power. ETA >> no mention of noise? How fast did the fan spin? I (also) get very similar temps to that 4060 (60°C, fans at c. 68% / 1800 RPM, good air-flow in the case, fairly quiet overall).
@@mikesunboxing Cool, useful to know. So, probably quieter than the faithful old 2070 Super. I'd consider replacing it with that card just for the reduction in power and noise (but realistically I'd go for one of the 4000's with more VRAM).
Good video. People crap on this card but I built a cheap pc for a friend and they read up and wanted this card. They have a 1080p display (as do most people) and they aren't a AAA extreme gamer that wants to play Cyber Punk with the settings cranked up. The most graphical intense game they'll play is something like Stray. They watch TH-cam,etc. They wanted a card that wouldn't get hot and use a lot of electricity and they wanted something new. This card pairs well with a cpu like a Ryzen 5600. Yes, it's near $300 but we aren't 2016 anymore.
Hmm i hear some conficting information about the noise production of this GPU, other video's mention it's quite loud on max usage, you say it's quiet. But i think from all the 4060 Solo's (which i need for my very small build) this seems to be most reasonably priced with the best cooling solution. I don't think i have many other options as the max supported length in my case is 194 mm :)
Me sorprende que casi no haya de la 4060 solo, a mi me la dieron en una build, y va a buenas temperaturas, en ark llega a 60° gráficos altos y en los normales como wot 43°
A really dumb question (I am out of the “PC building scene” since 15 years and my current rig is 10 years old). I currently have a GTX 1080 TI installed (actually a Zotac one). Could I install this card? The mainboard is, well, at least 10 years old.
I've watched the whole vid, but still don't know if it performs the same as a regular 4060 like Palit or the PNY brand. This is my first time building PC and researching, sorry. Does it perform just the same?
yeah it is pretty much the same, unless the case is very warm in that instance the smaller heatsink and single fan might strugglew to maintain the boost clocks
@@mikesunboxing Thank youu, that helps a lot. So it means if I'm not planning on overclocking and can keep the case cool (I plan to buy it cos it's the cheapest 4060 and use it on a normal pc case not sff)I don't need to worry about it right?
I have a issue. I use my cpu (AMD) as a display adapter bc I dont have a gpu. My pc runs perfectly when it is disabled or uninstalled but because of that my system runs slow and here is the problem: Every time when I try to download drivers my screen just shut down during the instalation. Can someone help me with the issue?

WTF dude. tell us ur pc spec before start benchmarking. what cpu what motherboard what ram what ram speed etc. i replay 5x looking for it turn off caption in case i miss heard. its freaking 8minute before the benchmark. im wastng 40 minute dude just to realize that u didnt say it. do me a favor dude. put your test bench spec before the benchmark. idk if this my 1st time i watch ur video or not. but i guess the prob is u not doing a consistence format with ur video. or make it easy put ur spec in description. just wtf dude. dont consider this a hate comment. i like specific hardware review. thank you

Very nice lil' card, I'll keep this in mind.
Very nice little card. Thanks for sharing Mike and Lady Kath. Take care everyone. Cheers
Thanks, you too!
I got mine an RTX 4060 Gaming X, but it's nice to see a SFF single fan card that runs as cooler as a dual fan model.
they have done a great job on this card, very pleased with it

I’m running it on a 400w gold flex psu 😉with a Ryzen 5800X3D

this is so small and cute but really only for really small pcs, if you have the room the dual fan models are what i would choose
That card is tiny. Thanks for the review (Doing some research for a SFF Steambox console to plug into the TV)

Very nice! that is a brilliant deal.
@mikesunboxing at the time, I didn't need it, but I couldn't pass it up.
I got a colorful 4060 recently, nice looking card, need to test it properly still
nice card, and this one is so cute
I have that graphics card with an i5-13400 and a 300W psu. Works very well.
that is great, 300w wow
This is perfect for a SFF emulation machine
yes definitely

fan rpm about 1000 -1200 under most cases, max of 1500 or so. pretty much silent over the case and cpu fans

Those power adaptors that go to the gpu are a fire waiting to happen.
Use the original psu cables you have more than enough room to do it.

Yeah same here had no choice as this is the smallest on the market at a sensible price
What powersupply do you recommend for this GPU?
i have used a cheap 300w and it worked, but ideally 400w or more
annoying fan bearing noise when fan curve is around 48%
are there any temperature issues with this card ? should i pair it with my i5 9400f?
temps are pretty good, 4000 series is good for temps

you could but the 1080ti is probably a better GPU to be honest.
how loud is is?
very quiet for a single fan model
Gpu temp ~70 on open bench ?
Yeah not bad for a single fan

yeah depending on the games these two are often quite similar in performance, not sure if there is a 7600 that is that small
