Likewise! I discovered Parsons at a store called "Only New Age Music" [what do you expect from LA?] on Melrose back in the very early 90s. I like Yatra, but Himalaya and the 2 David Sylvian/ Holger Czukay collaborations are among my all-time favorites for this type of music.
@@ceef8688 Sylvian and Czukay did a pair of albums - "Plight & Premonition" and "Flux and Mutability," both of which I adore more than I have the ability to convey. They are both very, very low-key tonal works. F&M is barely melodic and P&P arguably not at all. I play them endlessly when I'm writing or drawing... especially in the wee hours of the morning! A perfect soundtrack for the creative zone. I think of P&P as "ghost music" and F&M as "Caribbean ghost music." If you do give them a shot, please come back and let me know if you find those to have been apt descriptions! I've got a queue of Klaus Wiese music on screen now... can't wait to check it out, thanks !
@@atlanteum listening to P&P now! Definitely awesome in its subtlety, and I will tackle the other one soon. I like Klaus Wiese for the drone - helps neutralize my tinnitus, helps me fall asleep while my wife is up doing things. Czukay/Sylvian is definitely gonna work for when the house is empty and I want the mystic cavern experience. It's more varied in tone anyway, at first glance. Wiese is big time mantra music.
an early work, yet one of his best. perhaps one of the best Space Music albums. a supreme experience at altitude. if you like this album, you will almost certainly like Tibetan Plateau. i would also recommend Yatra. Sounds Of The Mothership, his first solo album, was recorded on a 4-track cassette deck, a Fostex i believe, and is interesting for the quality of sound he was able to achieve. also a fine album but an initial effort where he is just developing his sound. After Yatra, he began to diversify into greater emphasis on sturdy electronica sequences with hand percussion.
Great album
God, I have been listening to this album for over 30 years
me too!

@@atlanteum Czukay?? Gonna look into that. This one is awesome. I'm just breaking into the Klaus Wiese world.
