this is so frustrating trying to do a knockout without paying the monthly subscription fee. I just need to subtract text from images and i have to use other programs to do something so simple. Thanks for all your videos.
Are you using a current version of LDS? Have you tried Intersect in the bottom toolbar - it is a Basic feature a that can subtract things. Make copies of your originals before you start playing with it.
There are several stamp tools & they make this process easier. This video was created before there was a stamp tool, and we had to use alternative methods.
This marks the 24th video of yours that I have watched and your videos are so helpful. LDS is now in version 1.1.18. Do you know if this basic version will get the Subtract key to make this easier or will that option only stay in the Pro software? Although I am a complete newbie I hear that this was a basic function in Cricut and maybe also Silhouette if I remember correctly. I would think that Siser would want to be as competitive with its competition as possible with the functionality of the software versions. Thank you again!! I sang your praises to Tony at Siser the other day.
Remove Front and Intersect were both moved to Basic. I updated the description here - th-cam.com/video/WmmHQsod4ic/w-d-xo.htmlsi=CortlhKI3eAT2gs- Those can be used to subtract.
There are so many missing features in this software!! I am using silhouette studio business edition, and doing this is much easier with the substraction tools. It looks like a royal pain to do it using Leonardo. Thanks for the videos, I am waiting for my Siser Romeo to arrive and I have come to the realization that I will have to stick to Silhouette studio for the design part then export to SVG, a bit disappointing.
More is coming! They are updating the software based on user feedback and what users will use & need. We are testing new things now..... but knowing how to use multiple design programs is a great skill to have! The fact that Leonardo Design Studio opens and cuts a svg from day 1 is great! After user requests to show how to do things, I created the video to show it can be done. It might not be how users are used to and it will change with updates in the future, but it can be done.
I don't know how you came up with that and I was holding my breath while you were weeding the bottom layer. Thank you!
I learned it from a couple of people, but it wasn't until I started playing with it that I saw how it worked. You are welcome!
Thank you for the detailed video. Very helpful!

Amazing video; Thank you!
You are welcome!
Nice video. You can use stamp keep if you have Leonardo pro with offset to make cut out for the 3 names

This was so helpful and inspiring!
Thank you!
You found a great work around but I will continue to design elsewhere and just use this software to cut.
New things coming soon! ;) But I do the same... it's a great skill to have to be able to use multiple software programs.

Thank for the demo; but i think i rather sublimate instead for something like that!
Thanks for the video, does stamp keep not remove all them bits inside the knock out ?

I did it today using the subtraction tools on Leonardo and it works flawlessly!
