UNFORTUNATELY, LANIN'S ORCHESTRA ROTATED MUSICIANS FREQUENTLY, AND I DO NOT KNOW WHO THE MUSICIANS ON THIS RECORDING ARE. THIS BAND WAS LED BY SAM LANIN. THE ROSELAND ORCHESTRA WAS NAMED AFTER THE ROSELAND BALLROOM, WITH TWO LOCATIONS, IN PHILADELPHIA AND IN NEW YORK. THANK YOU!

Ted Fio Rito was 20 years old when he wrote this song.

Good song. This is from 1921 and sound recordings NEVER sounded this clean because ALL recordings were acoustic back then. This sounds like this could have been recorded from about 1925 to 1946, by that time recordings were electric. I guess this recording is the exception to the rule.

This is a particularly good acoustic recording, it helps that this copy is also quite clean. Gennett recordings from this era can sound very nice, in my opinion standing toe to toe or even surpassing what Victor and Columbia were producing around this time!

@@seventy8historicmusic Good to know. I am a fan of the roaring 20s and just older periods in general. I'm an old soul and proud of it. I've been even a fan of the roaring 20s when I was 8 years old. Some people deem the roaring 20s to be modern. I agree to an extent. Women's clothes from back then should and can be worn by women in the present day. The Art Deco architecture has a fancy and majestic feel to it, that feels suitable especially for office buildings and hotels, which should and can be built that way now. Dixieland, a popular genre from back then, should and can also be recorded today with digital audio. I would also say the finger wave should and can be applied to women's hair today because it looks like something a current pop star would have when she sings and dances. The black and white makeup on women back then looks Goth which fits really well with the present day. The Charleston song and dance should and can definitely be a thing for today.
