FINE! Ill read it again. Having a playlist is ESSENTIAL for reading berserk. And it's crazy how sometimes the music syncs perfectly with the exact panel that you're reading - making some of the scenes so much more impactful..... its as if Casuality itself controls the entire playlist. Also thank you for putting in the genres in the timestamps.
Guys i just started the Manga after watching the 1997 anime, but to my suprise the Elf is already in the story. I understand its ment for comedic relief, but the goofy faces in an otherwise really serious setting ruin the story for me. I usually don't watch anime's and this is my first ever manga, for this exact reason i also gave up on fairy tail with happy. Does the elf stick around, and does he keep action so silly and inmature? If so i'll cancel my order if the further books, since i thought Berserk was going to be way more serious then other anime's ive seen parts of.
@qopiqq3629 Let me tell you something.. Do not judge the entire series just for the first 3 volumes, that i assume you are speaking off. In the first place, they represent the introduction and the first version of the official release. But... the manga has suffered many changes, evolutions, such as in character development, art.. It happened to my the same as you, whatched the 97´s anime first, then started the manga, it was strange at first (but i enjoyed always) until you reach the "Golden Age" Arc that its more "familiar"... Always a constant scale of joy, excitment, emotions, growth of the connections with the story, characters, the world that Miura created. So... in the case you bought the first volumes separated, i strongly encourage and reccomend you to give it a chance for the next volume (volume 4, or The Deluxe Edition Vol. 2 wich its contains 3 volumes, all of the Golden Arc). Then, if its fits your enjoyment and expectations, you alone will found yourself buying the next books, completing the story, continuing and discovering the adventures to come, after the cliffhanger wich is The Eclipse (wich is, in Miura´s words, the real begining of Berserk). I repeat, do not judge all the manga just for the 3 first chapters, "The Black Swordsman", "The Brand" and all the "Guardians of The Desire". Theyre like an "tutorial" in a video game. Best of lucks on your choice! You will not regret it 😉
@ Thanks for your reply! I bought the deluxe edition and i was indeed talking about the first three chapters. Im sure the golden age arc will be fine, but im most interested in what happens after that, since thats where the 1997 anime ends. Is Puck still very silly at that point, or does it get more serious?
@@qopiqq3629Everything turns more soffisticated, high quality, and very catchy. About Puck, thats his core personality but... its going to be about 20%/30% Puck presence and hes not always goofy, but you gonna find his imput "necessarry" to the manga, to balance the darkness to its perfect point. This dosnt mean that affects the story seriusnes. And also, the right next Arc from the Golden one its pure action, adrenaline, excitment, rough... And also the next one, and so on...Always "in crescendo" I encourage you to give it an opportunity. Also you will discover how the "Black Swordsman" journey starts, right after the eclipse. You can search first on google, before buying anything, for the online manga, just if you want to be sure if its going to be of your taste.
@ I will do it, thank you. As much as i dislike the moments with Puck, i can't stop reading. I laughed out loud when Guts said thay he doesn't like Elfs, me too Guts, me too haha. You convinced me to keep going for now. Thank you, it might take a while but i'll let you know what i think when i get to book 6 and 7 of the deluxe edition :)
