One minor detail that is easy to miss for people who are not Urdu speaking is the writing on the bookshop which says 'FOR SALE' signaling Uncle G's farewell to his beloved collection. It's the saddest thing that in this hectic, materialistic world we don't have time to go to a quiet place and read some good book. Last time when I went to Lahore, I did notice that they have built cafés at the place of few of my favorite book shops. I also did not see those second-hand book stalls on road sides. Will the new generation ever know the joy of discovering great books at half-price?

This guy Star Shah (Amir Shah)has worked so hard to get to this point. I still remember the day I met him by accident at our university UMT, Lahore in like 2013. At that time he was studying BS Electrical Engineering. He showed us some of the work he was doing at that time.
Being an electrical engineer i think his lines were targeting his degree... 😂

another detail that all the scenes of pessimist person (star shah) had lonely people , tired , updet , hopeless , even single stray cat walking at back nut all the scene of optimistic person (zeeshan) had somone hopefull ,m loving eachother , bright lights
Yesss someone else who recognizes Zeeshan's Tere Jeya Hor Disda for the masterpiece that it was! I was so, so obsessed with the song when it came out myself. Just everything about that rendition was magic and it just doesn't get nearly enough love. So you talking about it like that made me happy haha
Coming to this song though, I've had a bit of an interesting journey with this one. I listened to it right when it came out, 2am at night. The sudden drop was a happy surprise so I instantly hit play... and ended up kind of underwhelmed. I don't know what it was, but while I thought the lyrics were beautiful and the video was so creative, something just didn't work for me and I dismissed it as a filler type of song. Which is fine. Every season has those. Cut to next day though, and I'm trying to go about my day but I keep hearing Zeeshan Ali in his magical voice going "Hor mohabbat ki hondi hai" in my head. It just wouldn't leave me. Mind you, I don't actually speak Punjabi so Allah jaane grammatically what was going on but random bits of the song kept playing in my head on loop. And somehow this playback in my head was hitting me really hard and was almost putting me in a trance each time. So last night I finally caved and went and listened to the song for a second time... and turns out I actually love it. Funny how that works.
But yeah, everything that could be said about the song, you guys have already done it so I'm just going to say that I loved this discussion and hearing your take on the thoughts being expressed here. Over the years I've become more and more jaded so I resonated with Star Shah's parts a lot but when Zeeshan came in with his take, I still felt it in my core somehow, you know? Because I guess that even if life has made me cynical and even if there indeed is deceit everywhere, there is a part of me deep down that still wants to believe. Love at its core is the purest emotion there is and to deny it or to close your heart to it would be truly tragic.
Anyway, I'll stop rambling now. Just want to let you guys know that I really do appreciate the work you do a lot. Your discussions are fun and insightful and its always a pleasure hearing you really deep dive. Have a good day :)

This world is surely getting crazier, more selfish, and more materialistic day by day, money has certainly become the religion and a barometer to judge a person. For me, this creation by Xulfi and his team is PLATINUM and will always stay this way because every word of this song is so damn true and proven right today and will be proven right in the future also. Star Shah and Zeeshan Ali's vocals have been so authentic and genuine to the soul of the song. As always, great reaction ladies, keep it up. See you in the next one, cheers!

V well said....When StarShah started singing it was all dark resonating with his lyrics, two people shown tired and sleeping after tense day, a bookskeeper packing books as nobody buys them, while when Zeeshan starts singing and saying positive things about love, we see a iittle more light and reflection of love through images of old woman petting her cat, old and young couple taking care of each other daughter taking care of her mother, and a mother ironinng her childrens school uniform reflecting love does exist in some form or other. Epic song with a great video. Kudos to all the production team and artists.

Don't ask me how but I had an inkling that you guys might watch this song twice. Maybe because I've been drowning myself in it since it dropped on Sunday. I guess the self conversation between man and his subconscious had to end on the protagonist carrying on his original thoughts, as we usually do....opposing thoughts come to mind often challenging our core belief, but irony of our experiences and beliefs takes over in the end.

There is an ernestness to Zeeshan voice which becomes so much more prominent in his second stanza if you notice. I think thats the clincher of the lump in your throat. You can hear in the natural tamber and rasp of his voice how much is pleading almost to Star Shah to see his view. Thats whats gets me. There is literally no one else in contemporary pakistani music scene that could carry that sense and rasp in their voice that Zeeshan can that would fit so perfectly next to the melodic warm tones and poetry of Star Shah. Also the flute need a special special shout out. The flute is a character in it self merging the 2 conversation together. You can just about see him blurred in the background in shahs second round.

Hello ladies, thanks for sharing your beautiful thoughts. I'm not sure why anyone would be leaving negative comments, I think at times those comments say more about the people that leave those comments than who the comment is for. And at times people truly are naive and misunderstand/misjudge the other side. Coming to the song, the first time I heard it I immediately wanted to play it back because of the lyrics, the delivery, their voices, the message, this is just audio, the visuals of course add extra layers of depth. This song is just the complete package!
Jo, I can understand where you are coming from when you speak of and feel what Star Shah is talking about. I have experienced it and felt it from several perspectives and that feeling and that reality really does suck. If I can be fully honest with you, what has helped me the most is religion. And I don't mean the preachy type of religion selling, also, I don't mean to be preachy, but the grounding of reality religion has provided me with, gives me salus. It really puts things into perspective and the pieces actually fit, the puzzle seems to head towards completion. I'm sorry for rambling on, but its your thoughts that made me share mine. Happy to have a detailed chat with you about it, if you like.
