Yes being homeless sucks. I've been living on wheels for over 4 years now. As soon as you upload a cheap land or cheap rent video I'm on it! Haven't found anything yet but I won't give up. My brother is going to retire near the Tahoe side of NV. I'm going to try and find near there. I rode Amtrak from WA state to Baltimore to attend his retirement ceremony. I couldn't afford a room but it was still the best trip ever! Keep em coming Briggs! Thank you for your service and thank you for continuing to serve! ❤️
Excellent Video Briggs!!! I want to go on an Amtrak now, I have to agree with you that when it comes to seeing nature and the outdoor beauty you definitely get to see more on the ground then opposed to on a plane.Keep up the great work Briggs.
I’ve taken that train many times I love it been on the train from Oakland to Nebraska very interesting. Also from Philadelphia to Georgia and Batan Rouge thru Texas to Los Angeles. Love the Train and you’re right you see a lot some not so great but interesting😊
Portland isn't as expensive as California I originally was attempting to move to San Francisco but I'm glad I settled in Portland. I'm trying to be a Boxer and this is the best city for me to afford the gyms and training I need to start. Money has always been my issue and I don't have parents
Before I moved to Portland in 1992 I drove up and left my car and took the Starlight back to Los Angeles. It was so awesome. I had a sleeper berth and so I was very comfortable.
Hi there! Big fans and were pleasantly surprised to discover you're from the South Bay! We live in Redondo and watch your videos all the time. Can't afford to retire here so we keep up with your best places to retire videos 😊
A person can take an Amtrak bus from Union Station to Bakersfield then transfer on to an Amtrak train that will take you up north all the way to Sparks Nevada for around 50 bucks. The furthest I went up north on an Amtrak train was Modesto Cali.
Good video Briggs if you're ever in the San Luis valley in Colorado take the cumbers toltech railway from antonito colorado to Chama new Mexico or from Chama new Mexico to antonito and stop in oiser station for lunch oiser is in Colorado what a pretty place in the Rio Grande national forest. I'm not sure if it's running now due to covid but if it is check it out it's worth it the train stops when the snow starts to fly. Chama is a cool mountain town in New Mexico you pass through both states like a dozen times.

Do you know if this train boards in Palm Springs? Or would we have to go to LA?
👍
I have taken the coastal starlight a bizillion times!!! Home ❤️❤️❤️
Briggs you're the man.
It's kind of heartbreaking to see the homeless people there
What time of year did you do this train ride?
What time of year is best to see the snow?
I would say late November to mid January
Nice 💯
It’s always a good day when Briggs uploads 😁
Got an upload on the other channel in about an hour.
@@Shorts2Briggs can’t wait 😁

I'm moving to Portland next week!
I heard the break in Klamath falls was tricky and that sometimes the departing trains are canceled with no explanation
Just found this channel. Nice change from your WATB channel. I liked the content. Did you get a roomette or ride in coach ?
Got the bedroom. The one with its own restroom and shower.

How was the train food?
It used to be good. Now it sucks. They had a diner car up until a year or so ago. Now it is just used to microwave frozen garbage.
I'm applying for a job in portland. I'm from switzerland and i've never been to the us but i hope i'll be able to move to portland
Love all your videos! Take the Southwest chief if you have the chance. You’ll pass by the “Gettysburg of the West” wonderful scenery of America
How long was the train ride from LA to Portland?
29 hours and 30 min +/-
This is my dream trip, except to go on to Seattle. Love your train videos.
Glad you like them!

How much was the cost from la to Portland?
like $600 for a small room.
You said I’ll take constructive criticism . You then say be nice to each other . I am confused. That’s weird. Oregon is beautiful.
Do you think constructive criticism has to be mean? I'm confused.
💚Are you near any National or State Parks on this Amtrak trip?
There is another Amtrak train called the San Joaquin that goes near Yosemite and the Sequoia National Parks.
Oh no and you saw a ghost lmao.
Too bad you were changing your batteries, you probably missed Bigfoot too.
No one goes to the Mall because no one wants overpriced crap when they can save and just order it.
Los Angeles to Portland ? Sounds like a great title for a new horror flick ( and stop typing everyone I grew up in Los Angeles ) 😂
I enjoy seeing these trips. What other trains have taken?
Empire builder 3 times. Cal Zephyr twice. SW Chief once.
Could certainly do without the depressing tunes
FYI, when you're talking please slow down.
