Again, please understand write off - If you don't write off a long term NPA, it results in misreporting to the shareholders. Even if Kunal Kamra takes a loan and somehow hides in India or some foreign country, for some years his loan would be shown as NPA in books but eventually it'd be written off, the asset should not stay in Balance Sheet if it has no collectibility... In other words, it's like लाल डायरी में लिख देना, udhaar aap aaj bhi vasoolna chahte ho, recorded bhi hai, but aapne usko current reporting se hataa ke as an expense book kar diya hai... Ye video thoda misleading hai...
And ye jo write off 17 times zyada hai, ye saare purane loans hain jo default hue hain... write off bas clean and correct reporting ka tareeka hai... Write off matlab loan maaf nahi hota... Bas ek Accounting entry hoti hai jisme Expense Debit hota hai and Asset Credit, that's it nothing else...

However, there is a slight chance of collectibility of NPA, thus it stays on the Balance Sheet and is reported... However, imagine a situation, suppose a person has taken a loan from bank in 1960, paid some installments and then stopped paying in 1961... Do you think that loan should stay in the Balance Sheet of bank in FY 23-24 report? No right? From time to time there should be a clean up of Banks books, where NPAs should be removed from Asset side, if any provisions are created against those should be removed from liability side... Otherwise in a few decades you'll see a very fat balance sheet when in reality you have absolutely no chance of collecting those loans... How shareholders are affected? Whenever you buy shares, you see the Book value of company, that book value is Assets-Liabilities --> those NPAs are included in the asset side and thus increase the book value per share of the company... So long term NPAs should be written off, banks should try to recover those loans and it should be recorded as other income if in case bank is able to collect those loans eventually...

Again, please understand write off - If you don't write off a long term NPA, it results in misreporting to the shareholders.
Even if Kunal Kamra takes a loan and somehow hides in India or some foreign country, for some years his loan would be shown as NPA in books but eventually it'd be written off, the asset should not stay in Balance Sheet if it has no collectibility...
In other words, it's like लाल डायरी में लिख देना, udhaar aap aaj bhi vasoolna chahte ho, recorded bhi hai, but aapne usko current reporting se hataa ke as an expense book kar diya hai...

@@vedantmahajan6323 NPAs are always declared separately in Bank's financial statement... However, there is a slight chance of collectibility of NPA, thus it stays on the Balance Sheet and is reported...
However, imagine a situation, suppose a person has taken a loan from bank in 1960, paid some installments and then stopped paying in 1961...
Do you think that loan should stay in the Balance Sheet of bank in FY 23-24 report? No right?
From time to time there should be a clean up of Banks books, where NPAs should be removed from Asset side, if any provisions are created against those should be removed from liability side...
Otherwise in a few decades you'll see a very fat balance sheet when in reality you have absolutely no chance of collecting those loans...
How shareholders are affected? Whenever you buy shares, you see the Book value of company, that book value is Assets-Liabilities --> those NPAs are included in the asset side and thus increase the book value per share of the company... So long term NPAs should be written off, banks should try to recover those loans and it should be recorded as other income if in case bank is able to collect those loans eventually...
