Nice bike! I recently inherited one of these. Indoor kept, very low mileage, great condition. I live in Texas but the bike itself is in West Virginia. I’m about to have it shipped down so I can take care of it myself. I think it’s time for me to enjoy it like it once was by someone else very close to me.
One of my first likes in motorcycles--it looked decent and made reasonable power, and it was extremely well-priced. Unlike the Honda CB 450, the Suzuki never got the fame it deserved.
In my opinion, 1968" T500 Cobra is the nicest bike Suzuki ever built. Finally, I can call myself a Cobra owner as well (68" Cobra in red). And, thank you for your help you provided thru email. Argo, Tallinn (ESTONIA)
Thank you for sharing, my first mc was a 1968 Suzuki 500 during high school. A few of us club raced at Riverside, Ontario, Willow Springs and Irwindale 605! They were some great memories!
Awesome!!! I never saw this model in Brasil despite i was a little child at time. They did not import this model. Saw your Yamaha R5 1970 and both get GREAT engines. Pretty beautiful bikes. Congrats :)
wow, Ericsattic .. you have a great bikes, there .. yore SUZUKI T500 are marvelous :) mint conditions..two thumbs up for youre work... i really love youre Video..as a proud owner of GT125, whom i still fixing .. its nice seeing a bigger Suzuki 2 strokes bikes, thats so classic and well preserve :) :)
The Cobras were wild. With that shorter wheelbase and the state of tune which was much more radical than later models they could outclass almost any four stroke of similar capacity. I wish I could remember exactly but my T500 L had a 112 link drive chain whilst the Cobra was 108. Please correct me someone.

There is a great show this weekend at High Point Farm, Clarksburg, Md. Direcctions from Va.: 270 to Clarksburg-Boyds exit, take it towards Clarksburg for about less than a mile to (left on) North 355 (towards Frederick) for about less than one mile again on your left side of the road is the farm (across the street from Little Bennet Regional Park) BRITTISH-EUROPEAN MOTORCYCLE DAY it is a great show of nice antique and all yea euro bikes, CHEERS!
Since when was it called "Cobra"? I had the first model (1968, same as yours) that came out. It was then called the "500 Five" (for the five speed gearbox)
The body set was repainted but not the frame. Google "Paul Miller Motorcycle" and contact them by phone or through eBay. My T500 was repainted, had new cables, new seat cover, new tires, but everything else was original.

Nice shout out to Paul Miller! I had a GT380 and he had (probably still has) everything I needed.
It looks fast just to look at it! The lines are pleasing to my eyes. Nice.
those fenders would start rusting about two weeks after you bought the bike you are very lucky to get ones that are pristine

Fans of these early Suzis will love the book The Tiddler Invasion.

Wonderful powerful simple bike with Great Acceleration.....but "Cobra".....when did they change the name from "Titan?"
When did the Cobra become a Titan?
