It’s one of only two stand up coasters in Europe. It’s a shame. I wish they used a mix of cars. They could always have 50/50 in terms of stand up trains and sit down. Then it’s accessible and keeps the people who want to be standing happy too.

To be fair, I’m a pretty slim person and every time I went on it, the bar would move sometimes up to like 5cm up and down. So sit down trains will make it Alot more comfortable for me and I’m sure a lot of others to ride.
Honestly - making a stand up, sit down doesn’t really change the comfort level. I rode Mantis at Cedar Point then again as Rougarou - there was no change and actually preferred Mantis!
I think it's terrible! That is about the only thrill ride they have now. Drayton Manor used to be a decent park... calling it family friendly seems to be an excuse to remove all thrill rides. American Adventure did the same and closed a few years later.
Shockwave was really uncomfortable when i went on it in july of this year ( 2023 ). The ride needed new trains. The station was empty, and i mean empty. There was only the first 2 rows filled and that was it. It is just becoming rough. The corckscrews were awful. Real head banger. However it has always had a place in my heart and i do love it. I knew the sit down trains were being added way before they even announced it. ( i cant tell you how but i know ) 2 new sit down trains. I am not saying anything else tho. I would like the think they would add an extra helix at the end to extend the layout a bit more. And dear lord make the breakrun longer! Just so the brakes arent so sharp! The stand up element has stayed for 29 years people. It could have gone sit down in the 2000's. They kept it going! We need to respect them and appreciate the investment. GOOD ON YOU DRAYTON MANOR
Drayton's 5 year plan was leaked last year which showed their new coaster, amendments to Shockwave along with other improvements.. I believe changes to a flat ride were also shown.
@@themeparkplanet3210it prob will run on 2 trains, but with a lower height requirement there will be more ppl going on it, yes. The queue would be more Bearable with 2 train ops but it would still be a long queue

The layout for a sit down is very basic and a bit boring. It was designed as a standup, so unless they’re changing the layout it should remain a standup
