That's the point. In any large city and, Birmingham's three times as big as Glasgow, we're going to get poorer areas and more affluent areas. Govanhill was on it's arse a few years ago. I would say just by walking around there that, the economic development of that area lies with the people that have chosen to make it their homes. It's a very vibrant part of Glasgow and, it's where the best curries are to be had, I love curry !!!
Whole of Southside is very multicultural thats why I love Glasgow tho it's very multicultural am Palestinian and a was raised in gorbals round Somali lads love Glasgow wae my heart 💯
Victoria Road amazing please from 10 am to 10 pm everything on your doorstep shopowners actually using their imagination being very creative to provide a social culture with a twist so if you’ve never been to Victoria Road go check it out
Obviously u don't live in Govanhill. Go into 1 of the backyards & see the filth lying abt. Move into area & enjoy y stay with y free tenants called rodents the tell me Govanhill is great place.
I don't live in Govanhill loads of my friends do, I spend a lot of time there, it's a great, vibrant part of the city.... Possilpark's way more run down.. I find most people with a downer of Govanhill are racists, thanks for watching and commenting
Hear hear bro. Ye cannae throw a chuckie without hitting a good feed over there. One of Govanhill's issue is that it's very poor, and that the whole area, and the residents have been 'ghetto-ised' by racist settlement policies. The 'Cooncil', up there in the ivory towers, see people by the colour of their skin and assume everyone's the same 'race', offensive in itself, and whap them into a few square miles with no thought for cultural sensitivities, or development. No easy answer here: I've got mates living in the Hill that are Moslem, Sikh, Hindu, and myriad other faiths and backgrounds, and they've got the same concerns as 'us' : earning a coin, putting a loaf on the table, and getting the Cooncil to get aff it's arse and start earning the Cooncil Tax. The old saying 'We're aw Jock Tamson's bairns' has never been truer. Flawed? Yip, but the vibrancy and sense of community that exists on the Hill puts us to shame. I'll shut it noo... 😂😂😂
What a response, can I throw in unscrupulous private landlords? I noticed some difference yesterday when I was walking about Govanhill, it's still Glasgow but, it feels like a very cosmopolitan European city, bring it on, I love curries, that's the golden triangle over there!!!
Parts of London comprise Fried Chicken shops, nail bars and betting shops .😊
