When Idalia hit the Big Bend area in 2023, the media showed a gas station canopy in Perry and incorrectly claimed it was on US 27. That's not true. It was on US 19-98, which is also overlapped with Alternate US 27. I drove to that gas station a few months before the storm hit.
I think it is Cat One and not Cat 4. The weather we. pans controllers may have planned for a 4 but it was a 1. I saw it live from eye. Trees still standing. Roofs still on.
