My Mother was given a 1954 Chevy Bel Air, from her parents. Six cylinder Powerglide when she graduate H S. It was used of and on after she married and had us kids. Several times pulled out of retirement. Like when Grandmas car stolen, Dads friend needed a car for awhile, and when the other family car broke down ( Toyota that took 4 months to find water pump). Then when I got my license in 1978 my mother offered me the car for my birthday. She knew all the years I played in it. She said if get it running you can have it. Charged the battery and filled up brake fluid. Someone hit me a year later at right rear quarter panel, still drivable. I then bought a 1966 F100, but always wanted to fix the Chevy. Overtime tried to work on it, but was not to be. Sold it in early 90's. It was to be restored by the guy who bought it. I miss that car. I still have a picture of it new, when I drove it, and before sold. I did find a model of the car with same colors and still have that one.

My grandma and grandpa used to have this car. My mom was telling me about it . She had to learn to drive it so she can drive them home from the bar and she said it was a stick shift.
