Pete Pardo, I have a great idea for another series of shows. Instead of ranking the albums... ranking the tracks on a classic album. You could start with Rumours by Fleetwood Mac and invite two or three of your guests to make it an interesting in depth talk about an album we all know (except from Chris Alo). Plenty of classic albums to cover on the following shows...

Zep could feature kazoos and it would still shit on most bands from a mile high! My niece just gave me the remastered vinyl edition for my b-day....God, I love her!

Sydney bought her crappy copy of her Alice Cooper album at Rock Fantasy... 4. "There's 'ol Handsome Dick" 5. Tony Iommi may have stolen Chris' copy of Sabotage... 6. You forgot the comments at the end from Sydney and Chris. Sydney wishes she had as quick a wit as Chris does and Chris replied that his wit can get in him into trouble too. At 1:05:00 mark.

Black Sabbath-sabotage 3. Aerosmith-toys in the attic 4. Rush-fly by night 5. Great show as always, I always (living through this time in music) have difficulty with the 'hard rock' and 'metal' tags, it just wasn't presented that way on the stations. My 5 for today: Physical Graffitti (Zep), Wish You Were Here (Floyd), A Night at the Opera (Queen), Born To Run (Springsteen), On Your Feet Or On Your Knees (BOC) but not the release version the band version Live in the West 1975. Some honorables: Stampede (Doobie Bros), Blues For Allah (Grateful Dead), Red Octopus (Jefferson Airplane).
So glad that Hawkwind's Warrior at the Edge of Time got a mention. I actually saw Hawkwind last Friday night (on what was Dave Brock's 80th birthday) and they did two songs from that very album. Stunning gig!
Hey Pete. I've been watching you for about a year & a half & I know you're a fan of theirs. I CAN'T believe you didn't give The Who- Who By Numbers (definitely 75) . It's an often overlooked (maybe not anymore) classic gem from 1975. Rock on Mr.Pardo. Hudson Valley Squares RULE! Kenny from Jersey
I'm not a big fan of Who By Numbers Kenny...always thought it was pretty mediocre to my ears, and a HUGE step down from the 3 albums that came out before it.
Wow. Surprised to hear you say that. Hey. As you always say, everyone's entitled to their opinion. Wow! I really like that album (except maybe Squeeze Box) but that's my opinion. To me, their quality didn't go down until after Who Are You Great channel Pete. Keep up the great work! 👍
Great year for Rock albums. These 5 rocked MY world!! 1. Black Sabbath- Sabotage 2. Ted Nugent- Ted Nugent 3. Styx- Equinox 4. Led Zeppelin- Physical Graffiti 5. Foghat- Fool For The City
Way to go Chris. Very interesting picks, didn't see that coming - but at the same time those were very Chris Allo picks. In Trance and TNT were excellent choices. It's funny that everybody thinks those are fantastic albums, yet they are usually overshadown by other albums from that year. The worldwide 1976 release of High Voltage is basically equal to the Australian 1975 TNT - almost the same tracklist and same running order. Cheers!
I gradated from high school in '75, so very hard to do. Dozens of Honorable Mentions as well. Black Sabbath "Sabotage" Led Zeppelin "Physical Graffiti" Queen "A Night at The Opera" Styx "Equinox" Pink Floyd “Wish You Were Here” Out of almost 40 honorable mentions, I had to include these, in no particular order: Zappa "One Size Fits All" Jethro Tull "Minstrel In The Gallery" Ambrosia "Ambrosia" Robin Trower "For Earth Below" Tangerine Dream "Rubycon" ELO "Face The Music" Bad Company "Straight Shooter" Important to note: Over time many of my Honorable Mentions have become some of my top, favorite albums of all time, but at the time of their release I was not as into them as I became after the fact.
1. Kiss - Dressed to Kill 2. Kansas - Song for America 3. Sweet - Desolation Boulevard 4. Led Zeppelin - Physical Graffiti 5. Jethro Tull - Minstrel in the Gallery
Great year. My selection for 1975 is: 1. Black Sabbath - Sabotage 2. Budgie - Bandolier 3. Nazareth - Hair of the Dog 4. Hawkwind - Warrior on the Edge of Time 5. Scorpions - In Trance Honorable mentions: 6. Lynyrd Skynyrd - Nuthin' Fancy 7. Thin Lizzy - Fighting 8. Rainbow - RBs Rainbow

5. In Trance - Scorpions 4. Hair of the Dog - Nazareth 3. Toys in the Attic - Aerosmith 2. Wish You Were Here - Pink Floyd 1. Physical Graffiti - Led Zeppelin
Another great show with the Squares and Martin Popoff as a special guest. Most of my choices were named during the episode except perhaps That's The Way Of The World by Earth, Wind & Fire. Apologies if it was already mentioned. And Chris gave me the biggest laugh when he muttered 'S O B!' upon finding his Black Sabbath set right in front of him. Sounded just like me. Thanks to all for your time in bringing us another must-see-TV episode.
Hi Guys and Sydney. Great Show. You took all my picks. Pete, I did not think you were going to forget Equinox. Here are a couple not mentioned. 1 Head East - Flat as a Pancake 2. Hydra - Land of Money

1)Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here 2)Nazareth - Hair Of The Dog 3)Fleetwood Mac - Self Titled 4)Foghat - Fool For The City 5)Led Zeppelin - Physical Graffiti
Great picks. I would add 10cc The Original Soundtrack. I liked Chris’ Jaws tangent. Fun fact: the Robert Shaw, who played Quint, went to Truro School in Cornwall. Other old boys of that school include Roger Taylor and Indiana Jones actor John Rhys Davies. How good were the three leads in Jaws?
Enjoyed the 1975 part 2. Many o' the same titles appeared again on this one. Hard to differentiate between the genres in some cases. A great year for classic albums. Thanks to you all!
Led Zeppelin - Physical Graffiti and Black Sabbath - Sabotage are above of all in this year, the two are in my top 10 of all time. 3- Jeff Beck - Blow by Blow 4- Neil Young - Zuma 5- Patti Smith - Horses 6- Bob Dylan - Blood on the Tracks 7- Aerosmith - Toys in the Attic 8- Thin lizzy - Fighting 9-Frank Zappa - One Size fits All 10- David Bowie- Young Americans

Damn you guys! I listened to Goblin Cock this morning and it's a damn fine band! Great mix between Sabbath, Uncle Acid, Jane's Addiction, a bit of prog...not at all what I expected! Thanx so much for that! Cheers!
Love all your guys input!! So much fun for new ideas!! I want to give a shout out to one of my first vinyl albums: “Toys In The Attic.” And I also love Cat Stevens Greatest Hits! S.O.T. Is awesome!!!
1975 was quite a year of big albums! Neil Young, Bob Dylan, Brian Eno, Bob Marley, Roxy Music, Patti Smith, and of course Bruce Springsteen’s big breakthrough.
My 5 top favorite albums of 1975 1 - Black Sabbath - Sabotage 2 - Scorpions - In Trance 3 - KISS - Dressed To Kill 4 - Deep Purple - Come and taste the Band 5 - Golden Earring - Switch
I hope there’s a 1976 soon! My favorite album of all time Agents of Fortune from BOC, Rock and Roll Over from Kiss, 2112, Jailbreak, A New World Record, Destroyer and Boston’s perfect debut!
I'm stumped! Going into this episode I see the subject as "Hard Rock / Heavy Metal" albums from 1975. Then I hear some of the choices, either main choices or honorable mentions. (???) Some participants seemed to have boarded the wrong ship.
I've changed the title...this was meant to be the 'non prog stuff' from 1975 since we did that on last weeks In the Prog Seat show. So yes, a few non hard rock things were mentioned but for the most part, that's what you got here.
Some of my favorites: Elton John - Captain Fantastic and the Brown Dirt Cowboy and Rock of the Westies Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here Queen - A Night At The Opera Fleetwood Mac - self titled Eagles - One of These Nights ELO - Face the Music
1. KISS ALIVE! (Casablanca) + Dressed To Kill 2. DAVID BOWIE - Young Americans (RCA) 3. LED ZEPPELIN - Physical Graffiti (Swan Song) 4. BLACK SABBATH - Sabotage (WB) 5. AC/DC - T.N.T. NAZARETH - Hair Of The Dog (A&M) 8. QUEEN - A Night At The Opera (EMI) / AEROSMITH - Toys In The Attic (Columbia) *tie 9. RUSH - Fly By Night (Mercury) 10. Thank God...Butch had BLOW BY BLOW on his List. You guys finally got me to buy Armageddon's album...today. Steve's "room" is so bad ass. They almost look like blacklight posters. CAF. Great show & I'm with Alo on RUMOURS & Space Balls.

Another great year for music. The 70’s period I think is probably the best decade for music by far. 70’s and 80’s are my favorite years. Hard to pick a top five but I think I’ll go with these. Top 2 are a for sure for me. LED ZEPPELIN- Physical Graffiti AEROSMITH- Toys In The Attic ALICE COOPER- Welcome To My Nightmare BLACK SABBATH- Sabotage NAZARETH- Hair Of The Dog Honorable Mentions RUSH- Fly By Night and Caress Of Steel SCORPIONS- In Trance KISS- Alive BAD COMPANY- Straight Shooter FOGHAT- Fool For The City PINK FLOYD- Wish You Were Here ZZ TOP- Fandango LYNRYD SKYNYRD- Nuthin Fancy TED NUGENT- Ted Nugent AC/DC- High Voltage DAVID BOWIE- Young Americans Probably leaving some out but there ya go.
Call me stereotypical if you want, but these are my top (in no particular order). Sabotage - Black Sabbath (definitely my favorite from this year) Ritchie Blackmore’s Rainbow - Rainbow Physical Graffiti - Led Zeppelin Fly By Night - Rush A Night at the Opera - Queen (Not my favorite album from them, but worthy of the spot) Ted Nugent - Ted Nugent Bandolier - Budgie Fool for the City - Foghat
1. Black Sabbath: " Sabotage ", 2. Led Zeppelin: "Physical Graffiti", 3. Thin Lizzy : " Fighting", 4. UFO: " Force It ", 5. Rush: " Fly By Night . Dishonorable Mentions: Alice Cooper: " Welcome To My Nightmare", Frank Zappa: " Bongo Fury " , The Who: " Who By Numbers" , Hawkwind: " Warrior On The Edge Of Time", Budgie: " Bandolier".
@@MochaDaisy8645 Thank You! I was just being a little flippant in subbing the word / antiphrasis; "dishonorable" for, honorable. I really love the albums on my "dishonorable mentions" list as well.
One Size Fits All is an extraordinary album, probably Zappa's best overall. Since you like Bongo Fury, it is a must listen if you have not heard it. Bongo Fury seems to be underated, about half of it is amazing, some of the best live performances ever, my favorite after One Size.
@@MochaDaisy8645 I have both - I prefer Bongo Fury, mainly because The Captain is on it - Hot Rats is my favourite Zappa album , although... it's not just because of the Captain's appearance on Steamboat Willie The Pimp, still, I really wish Zappa and Beefheart had made a few albums together, they're both alphas so... it would have been impossible in the long term - Beefheart being the more inflexible and disagreeable of the two, I think....
@@ethosardour2320 : I have and LOVE both, and I realize they were both put out in 1975 - I do slightly prefer Bongo Fury because of the Captain being involved. I think I've fallen into Pete's habit of not naming more than one band or performer's album(s) on any given subject, genre, or year - it's a good policy, really .
@@MochaDaisy8645 : Frank also edited/added in fragments of live performances into his " studio albums " - most of his studio albums are these odd hybrids of live and studio recordings. "We're Only In It For The Money ", is superb - it's my second favourite Mothers' album ( "Weasels Ripped My Flesh" is my fave Mothers cd ). Frank has an odd and varied catalogue , I tend to favour the late 60's early 70's material ( 66 - 75 ) , but I also really enjoy the Steve Vai era . I can sometimes obsess on the " Thing Fish " album. The Flo and Eddie period is a weird one for me - sometimes; I genuinely enjoy listening to it ( the version of Call Any Vegetable on "Just Another Band From L.A", is excellent), - mostly; it's a total disconnect with that period, and I find their vocals wonky - verging on annoying ( and, yes, I know Flo and Eddie were early 70's as well). I agree that "Caress of Steel" is the more ambitious of the two Rush releases for 1975 - I just prefer "Fly By Night" . I really don't like the production on "Caress of Steel" - lot of middle earth songs on that album - not really a Tolkein fan - Bastille Day and Lakeside Park are Fantastic, though! I'm from St. Catharines, Ontario ( Port Dalhousie ), where Neil grew up. Lakeside Park is about our park in Port Dalhousie - they renamed The Lakeside Park Pavilion, the Neil Peart Pavilion last year. They haven't erected the Neil statue, yet - but... the proposed statue is incredible!
Armageddon is my top album of that year. I'd hear Silver Tightrope on college radio back then and flipped out for the album. So sad they didn't continue!
THE WHO - By Numbers Tommy Bolin - Teaser Nazareth - Hair of the Dog KISS - Dressed to Kill ZZ TOP - Fandango Frampton - Self Titled Gary Wright - Dream Weaver Supertramp - Crisis? What Crisis? Roxy Music - Siren Crosby & Nash - Wind on the Water Neil Young & Crazy Horse - Zuma Neil Young - Tonight's the Night Eagles - One of These Nights Elton John - Rock of The Westies & Captain Fantastic . . . . .
Agree with the top 2 of most. Sabotage and Graffiti back in the day required a ton of black hash and good set of headphones and the odd micodot. Still great today 46 yrs later

Finally caught up with the episode. 1975 was a great year for films & music. It would be cool if you did a Goblin ranking but I do seem to remember you answering my question few months back saying that you had no interest in movie soundtracks. Hopefully Goblin will change your mind.
That's a great idea for a show!
I must third that.
Physical Graffiti is a monster. Best Zep album. Total genius piled on top of an already genius band.
Physical Graffiti is the sound of four other worldly musicians playing at their ultimate peak-it stands alone and eternally reaffirms what mankind is capable of.......yeah, it's pretty good! Led Zep documentary coming SOON!
Im not gonna lie after the fourth album i stopped listening to zeppelin. And 3 is my favorite. The acoustic one. Ive never listened to physical graffiti. Never once. Not sure why i havent.
Don't deprive yourself any longer-Physical Graffiti is as good as rock gets!
Well said, Ian! The diversity and dazzling musicianship by ALL four is astounding! In my less than humble estimation, Physical Graffiti is quite simply the very peak of rock and roll! Zep could feature kazoos and it would still shit on most bands from a mile high! My niece just gave me the remastered vinyl edition for my b-day....God, I love her!

Queen - Night at the opera
Great show as always, I always (living through this time in music) have difficulty with the 'hard rock' and 'metal' tags, it just wasn't presented that way on the stations. My 5 for today:
Physical Graffitti (Zep), Wish You Were Here (Floyd), A Night at the Opera (Queen), Born To Run (Springsteen), On Your Feet Or On Your Knees (BOC) but not the release version the band version Live in the West 1975.
To me, their quality didn't go down until after Who Are You
Great channel Pete. Keep up the great work! 👍
Great year for Rock albums. These 5 rocked MY world!!
1. Black Sabbath- Sabotage
2. Ted Nugent- Ted Nugent
3. Styx- Equinox
4. Led Zeppelin- Physical Graffiti
Cheers!
5. Rory Gallagher- Against the grain
4. Thin Lizzy- Fighting
3. Black Sabbath- Sabotage
2. Alice Cooper- Welcome to my nightmare
1. UFO- Force it
If you had seen Queen in the 70s live you would love them 👍 brilliant live show.
I gradated from high school in '75, so very hard to do. Dozens of Honorable Mentions as well.
Black Sabbath "Sabotage"
Led Zeppelin "Physical Graffiti"
Queen "A Night at The Opera"
Styx "Equinox"
Pink Floyd “Wish You Were Here”
Out of almost 40 honorable mentions, I had to include these, in no particular order:

Jethro Tull "Minstrel In The Gallery"
Ambrosia "Ambrosia"
Robin Trower "For Earth Below"
Tangerine Dream "Rubycon"
ELO "Face The Music"
Bad Company "Straight Shooter"
Important to note: Over time many of my Honorable Mentions have become some of my top, favorite albums of all time, but at the time of their release I was not as into them as I became after the fact.
1. Kiss - Dressed to Kill
2. Kansas - Song for America

Lakeside Park
@@davoshaunessy7481 I absolutely love the outro of Lakeside Park

2)Nazareth - Hair Of The Dog
3)Fleetwood Mac - Self Titled
4)Foghat - Fool For The City
5)Led Zeppelin - Physical Graffiti
Great picks. I would add 10cc The Original Soundtrack. I liked Chris’ Jaws tangent. Fun fact: the Robert Shaw, who played Quint, went to Truro School in Cornwall. Other old boys of that school include Roger Taylor and Indiana Jones actor John Rhys Davies. How good were the three leads in Jaws?
Enjoyed the 1975 part 2. Many o' the same titles appeared again on this one. Hard to differentiate between the genres in some cases. A great year for classic albums. Thanks to you all!
Love the show! Especially Sidney. Unique to find a woman this knowledgeable and into rock music. Keep it up!!

Incredible year, that old 75 ❤
'Spirit Slips Away' and 'Roisin Dubh (Black Rose)' are the two Thin Lizzy songs that always make me cry 💚
Yep, hard to find a more emotional song than Spirit slips away. Phils songwriting skills are top notch.
What a great year for music, I love the Tommy Bolin Teaser album.
Black Sabbath- Sabotage
Zeppelin- Physical Graffiti
Queen -A night at the opera
Hawkwind-Warrior on the edge of time
Some of my favorites:
Elton John - Captain Fantastic and the Brown Dirt Cowboy and Rock of the Westies
Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here

Another great year for music. The 70’s period I think is probably the best decade for music by far. 70’s and 80’s are my favorite years. Hard to pick a top five but I think I’ll go with these. Top 2 are a for sure for me.
LED ZEPPELIN- Physical Graffiti
AEROSMITH- Toys In The Attic

TED NUGENT- Ted Nugent

Probably leaving some out but there ya go.
Call me stereotypical if you want, but these are my top (in no particular order).
Sabotage - Black Sabbath (definitely my favorite from this year)
Ritchie Blackmore’s Rainbow - Rainbow
Physical Graffiti - Led Zeppelin
Fly By Night - Rush
A Night at the Opera - Queen (Not my favorite album from them, but worthy of the spot)
Ted Nugent - Ted Nugent
Bandolier - Budgie
Fool for the City - Foghat
Foghat Fool for the City, Supertramp Crisis What Crisis, and Styx Equinox
Armageddon is my top album of that year. I'd hear Silver Tightrope on college radio back then and flipped out for the album. So sad they didn't continue!
Finally picked Armageddon up today...finally.

Neil Young - Tonight's the Night

1975 was a great year for films & music.
It would be cool if you did a Goblin ranking but I do seem to remember you answering my question few months back saying that you had no interest in movie soundtracks.
Hopefully Goblin will change your mind.
