I enjoyed the update on your Phrags. They look so lush and healthy. 😊 You have some really nice ones. I have been following your advice and my Phrag is now producing a spike. Thank you for all your tips.
Good afternoon Denise....Thank you for your comment on my Phrags......I'm sure someone somewhere has a much better collection than I do......take care and have a good New Year, Ed.
Hi Ed😌🙌Yes, your care tips for phragmipediums was very clear and well instructed Ed👏🌟I actually don't have any phragmipediums, but I do have a Japanese native Cypripedium japonicum I'm trying out.
They are sensitive to salts and chemicals in water. I try to use distilled/reverse osmosis/rain water for mine or if I know that well water is pretty pure I can use that.
I was under the impression that you would be re-potting every twelve months or so. It could be that you haven't changed your media for three years and that the rockwool has been inundated with fertilizer and cannot be flushed away with flushing. Ed
You're trying to flatter me again FreedomRider........I don't deserve your lovely comment but I do thank you for your comment............take care.....and ride slowly!!! Ed.
They look wonderful, Ed! No difficulties with winter growing for you then. My house is such a challenge! It’s either too cold and drafty with variable humidity or too warm and dry with little to no air movement. I’m working it out.😊❤👍🪴
Good evening Lori I have all mine in the house in three differing rooms, Where most of the massies are in never gets higher than 15c and drops down to around 7c. The room where the draculas are gets to 18c with lows of 9c. The living room gets much warmer and at the moment it is 22c with lows down to15c. The humidity in the first two rooms is between 80%-90% with the living room at 57%. Hope that you can works things out for your cultivation rooms.........take care, Ed.
@EdsOrchids I'm glad for this reply because I was going to ask what your humidity is like. Lava rock seems to work really well for you but it might be too coarse for my humidity levels right now! Maybe smaller rocks?
Ed your phrags are doing very well! Fantastic job! I had to bring my large paphs in house from my grow tent where I can monitor them better. The leaves on your phrags are just beautiful. Take care..love your videos

Ed.
Is it because they have been in rockwool cubes for 3 years i do flush regularly ed
