You might not know it but Frank Welker is the voice of your childhood. I guarantee you've heard this man's voice whether you intended to or not, even if you don't even know it, you've heard this man's voice somewhere. I don't think there's a single person over the age of 5 that can honestly say they haven't.
I just found out recently that he was the fricking Anglerfish from Finding Nemo. Finding Nemo is a film I've watched since I could first walk. For some reason, he wasn't credited, and he *SHOULD'VE BEEN,* because that scene was already scary on its own, but now knowing that those sounds were created by an actual human being makes it TEN TIMES scarier! Frank Welker is truly one of my role-models as a voice actor. It's because of people like him and Dee Bradley Baker that I can do certain animal sounds like pigs and cows, , and I will always love them both for that.
I'll do you one better. Caught a rerun of the 1969 movie The Computer Wore Tennis Shoes in the 90s and one the lead character's friends and classmate, Henry was played by a 23 years old Frank Welker. Movie can be seen on Disney Plus.
Oh, god! When he said "All hail Galvatron", I got flashbacks to when at the BotCon dinner where Frank Welker was inducted to the Hall of Fame there was this loud cringy group of fans chanting "ALL HAIL MEGATRON! ALL HAIL MEGATRON!" over and over at the top of their lungs. I think this was Frank's first convention appearance ever and it scared him out of the con! It probably almost turned him off of doing any more conventions after that! I'm glad we were able to get him for TFcon and that the TFcon goers were much more well behaved and respectable than that group of obtuse BotCon attendees. Frank's such a great guy! I hope we see him back at TFcon some time in the future.
I think that those fans were excited to see my human father (Frank Welker) for the first time in a Comic-Con convention.... but you never know if you never go there as a celebrity of voice acting...... Hyper people scare the calm people off. I guess.....
The most people he ever dealt with at one time were like 20. Yet they're familiar people, and they distance themselves in booths and studios. Imagine like 20,000 people and they're hyped like Buccaneers fans during a superbowl. Furthermore, you're at center stage. Someone could throw flowers or a dead crab, and you wouldn't know. Since these con-goers are a lot less hyperactive, and everything is arranged that they're civil, it got better for him.
First time I ever heard Frank's voice or saw his name was for Tiamat and Uni on DUNGEONS & DRAGONS. But it was Peter Cullen's voice as Venger on DUNGEONS & DRAGONS that I'll always remember best... later to be heard as K.A.R.R. in KNIGHT RIDER. It was these two guys that brought my attention to Voice Actors in the first place as it's their two names that I've seen come up most often over the later years that I actually realised the breadth of their work, including that Frank was Fred from the original 1969-1970 SCOOBY DOO, WHERE ARE YOU? Just amazing repertoire.
Too bad no one asked about his Wheelie voice, and if they did let me know. Because if I ever had a chance to ask a question, that is the one I have always been curious about, it was so different from all the others he has done. When I was younger it blow my mind knowing that the voice of the scariest Decepticon was also the voice of the most "annoying" and childlike Autobot.

Yeah Ray and Fred are the closest. Ray is a little higher where Frank goes to sometimes. But in his more consistent voice it sounds more like Fred to me. It’s like Fred sounds like Frank then Ray is Frank slightly higher and more animated.
