All the Loco Roco songs are actually a parody of a Japanese dialect, then played with different accents and tones of different languages and the rest of the Loco Roco language was soon invented! Oh, wow, the developers really had fun with this!
What compelled you to listen to despacito and go “yeah this is pretty good but you guys ever hear green blobs theme from loco Roco it’s so much better” then leave this comment
The soundtrack for Loco Roco is based on a fictional language created by Kouno to avoid alienating foreign players by using Japanese music.[5] Kouno created the language by compiling a list of interesting words in katakana, then altering the words slightly to make them sound cool in Japanese as to mask their origins.[7] Kouno then sent the lyrics along with some of his preferred reggae, soul and R&B music to the composers, Nobuyuki Shimizu and Kemmei Adachi, to complete the soundtrack.
I'd say that the LocoRoco each have their own nationalities. Chavez would likely be Latino, Priffy French, Budzi American, and so on. It would be a good reason as to why the songs have different "Accents".
I have so much respect for the vocalists on all these songs, remembering all these made up words. I can't even say "icharra erraerra derreto rretamucho" when the words are right in front of me.
I’ve always wondered if the writers just picked arbitrary syllables that sounded good or if there’s an actual translation. EDIT: I’ve learned that there is a key to the language in existence, but nobody but the designer has any idea what it is.
Great voice and awesome song. It took me extra long to get through his stage because I kept breaking up and putting the LocoRoco back together just to hear the countless ways the song could go. Hehe!
The language is essentially altered Japanese which has been made such that you are unable to understand what he's singing even if you speak Japanese fluently. This was so that foreign players wouldn't be alienated. It was designed so that you can get the general gist of the song by listening just to the rhythm and tone.
here are the countries that the locorocos represent: Japan-Kulche U.S.A.-Chavez Canada-Viole Pekerone-Philippines Budzi-England Tupley-Italy Priffy-France
Probably because he’s the last one unlocked and switching LocoRoco out is unnecessary for longplays And there’s no auto switches after half of World 4 since everyone’s unlocked by then

RebeccaETripp What's the difference between this genre and Yellow's genre?
Yellow is sort of pop for kids. I would say this is the tiniest bit grungy. Yellow is more like a jingle.
RebeccaETripp
Ah, OK.
@@RebeccaETripp Yellows theme sounds kind of like something that might've been made in the 60s, at least to me it does.

+TheSarahkitten42 Yeah, that's what I've thought for awhile, too.
Kulche would be a Japanese
Pekerone is Filipino
Viole and Tupley would be Americans also 😁 that's just my idea for their nationalities
Eco Neko I wanna say more that Viole would be British, and Tupley Italian. But, I can see where you're coming from
They have names other than their colours?
I never knew that!
The Joe bean 381 yeah in the second game they all got names

Seems reasonable

So it's like Japanese, but with Spanish accent...
Yápanis then? :D
Accurate
"normal word" is just perception, I'm a Spanish speaker and mio is a normal word in that sense. Again Locoroco doesn't speak any know language.
After playing some of this on the PS4 I realized they use the short version of some of the characters songs :/ Green guy and yellow guy I think
The green guys name is Chavez and the yellow one is Kulche. Chavez's theme is 40 something seconds long.
This is pretty damn fitting for the ice levels. No wonder it's Chavez's favorite area.
