Not much better than de Boer. It's clear that Glasner's run last season was because of Olise. He has shipped in these players that he worked with before that aren't Premier League standard. Worryingly he looks like he won't drop them through stubbornness.
relax, we've had a lot of turnover this season, not just olise (who was a big loss) but also losing stalwarts of the team like Anderson and Ayew. We've also been devastated by midfield problems. Yet despite this, we've gotten points off United, Chelsea, and got a point against Leicester after going 2-0 down. We are also quite unlucky to lose to Brentford and arguably against West Ham too. We only got players in on deadline day, many of whom are still getting used to the team and system. It's been a slower start to the season than we'd like, but to compare Oliver Glasner (a Europe League Winner with Frankfurt) and a coach who has consistently improved every team he's coached to Frank De Boer is a little over the top. De Boer was sacked after four defeats against Swansea, Hudderfield, Burnley, and Liverpool after scoring no goals. After 5 games, we have three points and have definitely scored goals, all while playing much better teams and managers (aside from Liverpool) than De Boer did.
It's not Glasner's fault. His tactics were already working well before Olise returned from injury. It's partially to do with the transfers, like selling Andersen and Olise without good enough replacements, but it's also because the players just haven't been good enough. Eze's been generally sloppy, Mateta's had one good game (at least in the Prem) and Henderson has been consistently inconsistent. Glasner knows when he needs to drop players and he knows how to win. He still has the best record from previous clubs than any Palace manager ever. He got Wolfsburg into the UCL and won the Europa League with Frankfurt, beating Arsenal along the way. Don't blame Glasner for employing tactics that he knows works. Blame Freedman for not signing good enough replacements and blame the players for being in such poor form.
