Hi, I have a question if you dont mind.
Where is Meisi thread being made? in China or somewhere else?
      thanks in advance!

Thanks man, your video answer my question. I'd been wondering what it will looks like meisi 0.35mm on the 3.38mm spacing (even you said you using 3.34mm) I think its not much differeent.

Meisi is my current range of threads. I just like how they offer a wide variety and constantly update theirs. Back then, there were only Ritza tiger threads, probably even earlier, much fewer options around.

Your opinion on Xiange braided vs Vinymo MBT?

Pretty cool review ! I just bought a couple of spool of the linen version and they are a pleasure to work with. Question regarding their nylon thread : is it waxed to the point it get sticky and does the thread twirls after sewing for a bit ? I have been using YueFung Button linen thread which had a similar way to lock the thread on the spool and it’s also a good quality one.

I think Xiange twist is a good compromise. You get a look very similar to linen, but also a product that will be durable for long.

I'm afraid that MeiSi "linen" thread is not made from flax fibers as Fil au Chinois is, and also not so "affordable" as you mentioned, compared meter-by-meter. The price per meter is higher on Meisi than Fil au Chinois.

Thanks for posting. When I saw this video come up, I started to worry that I may have made a mistake spending hundreds on Fil au Chinois. I’ll buy a bobbin of this to compare, but I figure Fil au Chinois is still king for a reason.

@@Ohmie no, you didn't made a mistake. You should order a roll of MeiSi "linen" to really understand the differences. FaC is just the real thing even though they say it's inconsistent.

I'm confused then why some of the best crafters out there all switched to Meisi? I follow ~50 people, everyone not dealing with thick leather uses Meisi, the rest of them use Tiger thread :|

@@glacialimpala do you folow trends or do you try understanding things? That is the question.
I also know a lot of people migrating from FaC to this fake linen (have you noticed that there isn't any mention of flax on the label?). That's a matter of convenience for them. Try both and conclude for yourself 😉

@@cristian_stancu I never follow trends, but if people who I perceive as highest earning and highest quality in the business switch to a brand of thread I'll assume it's quality. Because established crafters don't have other incentives.
If I wanted to learn from own experience it would be utterly dumb because it would mean I should ignore standards, color fastness ratings and do my own testing every time, slowing my business process tremendously

I tried ordering on their website from the United States. Paid with PayPal. Never was there any mention of a shipping fee as I checked out. So I hoped for the best. Less than 24 hrs later I received an order cancelation and a refund for the amount that I paid. Their website it rather clunky. Anyone else here in the US have any luck ordering from them? If so, how did you do it?

Hi, David. try their Instagram. I know it's much trouble some but I think their website isn't fully ready yet.

@@leathertoolz I sent them a message via email and also instagram and no response at all. That was early this week. Disappointing.

Meisi store is really bad, but threads of meisi calculate the shipping cost just fine, at least for me. Meisistore also isn't a secure page :|

I just wish they give their range of threads better names for the international buyers. Meisi literally used Hanyu Pinyin names which makes it hard for anyone to pronounce.
