- GuineaDad here with the fifth and last episode of our DIY Indoor Grass Field. In this episode, the guinea pigs are finally going to try out the hydroponic grass field! For those who don't know, hydroponics is a method of growing plants without the use of soil. It's been a few days since we planted the seeds and the grass has been growing better than our first self-growing pasture. Maybe it's because of the hydroponic solutions we added? We also upgraded the big container that holds the water under the tabletop. And then... voila. GuineaDad's DIY indoor grass field has FINALLY reached its final form!
Peanut, Tofu, and Dumpling seemed to really like it (thank heavens). Who do you think enjoyed it the most?

i just watched a video which i stumbled across of guinea pigs eating grass.... now i want a guinea piggy.
They are the awesomest, but do need research before bringing them in :) Oh, and always try to adopt from local rescues first!

Please don't expose your piggies to pesticides. Grass on lawns tends to have insecticides or pesticides on it.
The natural grass has some parasites and stuff that you don’t went getting to your piggy! Also they can get fleas and ticks which is not fun.
Finally, I made it I can like never make them anymore since my summer has been so busy!! But Hiii GD!! :D
I used to have 3 piggies when i was a kid and when i would open the refrigerator they would all start screaming for celery haha😂

I bought a Guineadad fleece blanket and my guinea pigs love it. The blanket came in a cute box that had a cutting spot so you can make the box into a hideout for your guinea pig.

hi! the layer formed on top of the water is from lack of movement. getting an air stone or stirring the water every few hours will keep it from forming.

You just solved a non piggie problem i was having LOL. i needed a small stand for my desktop tower but with my case being special i wasnt able to fine one wide enough and long enough i think ill go build one like you did. and yeah your dollie is actually pretty professional looking.

Maybe dim the lights a bit when the piggies are in there? Hopefully the UV spectrum is OK for them but we don’t know.

You can just get an aquarium light designed for planted aquariums. Pretty sure that's what they are using.
Is it safe to fertiliser on grass for animals? Only asking as I'm thinking of growing my cat some x
Hey I just purchased a liner and so I watched a guineadad video on how to wash them like a pro. One tip was to use a certain type of vinegar that I dont have. Can I just use regular vinegar?
It’s just regular white (clear) vinegar. I’ve also used what is labeled as cleaning vinegar which is the same thing, you just can’t eat it.

Please try a split cage - like a c and c cage, with a barrier down the middle so they can still see each other.

You don’t need any fertilizer for this short stage of growing. All the nutrients this wheats need are in the grains. Just if you regrow those wheats you need fertilizers.

I have a pig I rescued about 2 months ago and she is still super skiddish when it comes to contact. I can give her pets most of the time but that’s it really. And sometimes she’s even sketched out about that. Is there anything I can do aside from just giving her time?

Hoomun, do you have any idea how much fresh grass I can eat? A WHOLE Guinea Pig full!!! Then I can lay down and take a piggie nap on the grass, and wake-up and eat some MORE. Do I have to teach you EVERYTHING? And make me walk UPSTAIRS to eat? What do you think I have YOU for? You are my slave after all...It's bad enough you aren't bringing me grass, but I'll overlook that for NOW...Just remember, you can be replaced...
