Love this podcast but Nicholas is so boring! You’re so engaging but it always seems like he doesn’t want to be there, doesn’t want to talk. Seems like you have to work hard to pull the words out of him. If he could bring out more personality it would be more interesting watching the two of you talk. The videos of you walking around Paris are Fantastic!! I am learning so much. I’m glad I found this channel ❤
I really like the idea of NOT having the two subtitles together. I was trying to block the englush translation from my sight with my hand, because it is too tempting to read the English all the time. Then gradually you find you are not listening to your french. So please, please, please, keep the new place for the sub titles. If I dont understand a french word I can have a quick look at the English. And of course there is a pause and a rewind button😅 I really appreciate your videos, thank you🙏
I must disagree. I personally like having the French words and the translation next to each other so I don't have to bounce my eyes back-and-forth from the top to the bottom of the screen.😊
I think the new subtitles organization is better. I read the French and take a quick glance at the English to verify I understood the sentence correctly. Thanks for the change!

I really like the French at the bottom and the English on top. So I look at the French, but if I don’t understand, I quickly flick my eyes up to see the translation. Merci!
I like the new format a lot better. Also, this way I can read only the French without seeing the English so it forces me to think more in just French without a brain conversion. BTW, when you get sick, you might want to make a thick tea from crushed ginger and add some turmeric powder. Another really helpful video! Thank you. I can really understand your speech patterns as opposed to so many other French videos I have seen.
Thanks again from Australia for these excellent videos ! I like the splits subtitles. I pause the video often, and try to translate (without looking at the English ) then I speak the sentence . Lots of stopping & starting but works for me and tests my comprehension. Many thanks ! 👌🎯🏆

L'hiver est long ici mais s'il y a beaucoup de jours quand il fait du soleil et s'il y a de la neige -comme c 'etait les hivers derrniers, c'est pas probleme du tout. Pour moi, je vais faire du ski et profiter de la nature. Beacoup de monde veuillent faire du ski.mais s'il fait pas du tout du bon, temps nuageux et s'il a beaucoup de pluies en hiver, ca peut avoir aussi un effet sur moral. Bonne continuation a vous!😊

J'habite à Stockholm et vous avez raison, l'hiver n'est pas tellement amusant ici en ville, cependant, l'hiver dans le nord est très beau. La nature en hiver est particulière mais très froide bien sur:) Beaucoup de gens prennent un supplément de vitamine D, moi aussi et cela aide un peu.

My ancestors came from France and landed in Quebec City in the 1500's. Many of the women were "Kings Daughters" who were given money by King Louis to travel the Atlantic to Quebec and marry Quebecois men to help colonized "new France"!
Very possible! Many of my ancestors left Paris and surrounding areas to migrate to Quebec and were among the original families who settled in Ile D’Orleans. It’s a small world!

I would just listen first without looking at the screen. Then, I would watch the video. I appreciate the subtitles either in English or French. Your conversations are positive and real. Thank you both.
I prefer the former substitle organization, having the two of two together helped my brain associate the words faster. My eyes are darting all around now. Or maybe put the subtitles in the video so those that want the English and French together can get it ?
I find either way helpful regarding subtitles. Some peoples brains work one way, some work another way. But however you organize it, I find it to be wonderful.
I like having tye French and English sub titles. So at least I can follow along but at same time it helps with recognizing words and saying ahh ok that word is this in English. So I think it helps.

Very helpful. I think with respect to the subtitles if you could do a style that keeps a little bit more of what was said on the screen line, it would help. I try to listen without reading but sometimes there's something I need to read. By the time I get back to the video it's gone

I also really appreciate it that two men are taking about psychological problems like anxiety and depression. I think it was easier to learn when the subtitles were together and not separated. There’s not enough time to look at both when separated if you need to without pausing. I loved the previous format. I think it’s what made your videos so popular.

La Finlande ne fait pas partie de la Scandinavie, c'est une idée fausse. La Scandinavie, c'est-à-dire les nations vikings, sont la Norvège, la Suède, le Danemark et l'Islande. En Finlande, les gens et la culture sont totalement différents, tout comme la langue.

L'hiver est long ici mais s'il y a beaucoup de jours quand il fait du soleil et s'il y a de la neige -comme c 'etait les hivers derrniers, c'est pas probleme du tout. Pour moi, je vais faire du ski et profiter de la nature. Beacoup de monde veuillent faire du ski.mais s'il fait pas du tout du bon, temps nuageux et s'il a beaucoup de pluies en hiver, ca peut avoir aussi un effet sur moral. Bonne continuation a vous!😊
Salut, c'est exact. C'est surtout la pluie qui affecte le moral. J'espère un jour faire du ski de fond en Finlande. J'ai entendu dire qu'on pouvait faire du ski à Helsinki. (En ville ou proche de la ville) C'est super. Il faudra que je m'entraîne avant de venir 😂 ma technique n'est pas bonne.

Je suis ensuite revenu à Taïwan plusieurs fois pour visiter et rencontrer mes amis. J'y retourne sûrement l'année prochaine. Merci beaucoup pour votre réponse. J'apprends le français avec un professeur. La raison pour j'apprends le françai, cest parce que j'aime beaucoup les comédies musicale et les chansons français, donc je voulais apprendre à chanter ces chansons toute seule. J'apprends d'abord la prononciation avec mon professuer et puis, j'ai essayé d'apprendre à chanter moi-même. Je trouve que le français intéressant😊(pour l'instant)

J'habite à Stockholm et vous avez raison, l'hiver n'est pas tellement amusant ici en ville, cependant, l'hiver dans le nord est très beau. La nature en hiver est particulière mais très froide bien sur:) Beaucoup de gens prennent un supplément de vitamine D, moi aussi et cela aide un peu.

Petit conseil 😉Si vous avez de la fièvre, préparez du thé à la framboise sans sucre ou avec de la confiture de framboise. puis couchez-vous, enveloppez-vous dans deux ou trois couvertures. Vous devrez beaucoup transpirer. Changer le linge de lit. Buvez beaucoup d'eau ou de thé au citron avec une paille pour éviter d'endommager l'émail de vos dents. Prenez une douche dans trois jours, pas plus tôt.

My ancestors came from France and landed in Quebec City in the 1500's. Many of the women were "Kings Daughters" who were given money by King Louis to travel the Atlantic to Quebec and marry Quebecois men to help colonized "new France"!

I prefer the former substitle organization, having the two of two together helped my brain associate the words faster. My eyes are darting all around now.
Or maybe put the subtitles in the video so those that want the English and French together can get it ?
I find either way helpful regarding subtitles. Some peoples brains work one way, some work another way. But however you organize it, I find it to be wonderful.

I like having tye French and English sub titles. So at least I can follow along but at same time it helps with recognizing words and saying ahh ok that word is this in English. So I think it helps.

Very helpful. I think with respect to the subtitles if you could do a style that keeps a little bit more of what was said on the screen line, it would help. I try to listen without reading but sometimes there's something I need to read. By the time I get back to the video it's gone
Oui il y’a des ajustements à faire mais c’est pas facile car certaines personnes préfère les sous titres plus court et gros pour pouvoir les lire pendant qu’ils cours sur les tapis roulant à la salle de sport…

My french is getting better and better. i think in 3 weeks i enter the grand nation from vienna the first time. I met a lot of french people 25 years ago and really nobody was able to speak english. I also really appreciate it that two men are taking about psychological problems like anxiety and depression. Mais récemment, ils ont été critiqués par des psychologues comme Nick Duffell qui disent qu’ils sont mauvais pour les enfants, surtout les jeunes enfants, et la société. Je pense qu’en Angleterre, ils sont militaristes pas amusants, les endroits. Il existe une condition chez les adultes qui a été appelée le syndrome du survivant de l’école-pensionnat. La Finlande ne fait pas partie de la Scandinavie, c'est une idée fausse. La Scandinavie, c'est-à-dire les nations vikings, sont la Norvège, la Suède, le Danemark et l'Islande. En Finlande, les gens et la culture sont totalement différents, tout comme la langue.
Génial ce commentaire! J’ai parlé avec un Suédois récemment et il m’a effectivement dit que le suédois n’avait rien à voir avec le Finlandais, mais par contre il était capable de comprendre en partie le Norvégien. Grâce à vous je comprends mieux maintenant !

I speak English and I'm slowly learning Japanese, Nicolas speaks English and Romanian fluently and is currently learning Spanish and Russian.
