Totally goosebumps. That's sounds like opera blues gospel altogether. PAUL ROBESON WILL LIVE FOREVER.
Something about the solemnity of his voice that makes you like it.
My jaws ache from smiling; my eyes sting with tears.
There is no substitute for Paul Robeson. This song moves me especially today as a reminder of the power of a spiritual as a hymn of liberation now. There is power in calling on a story that resonates across time. The religious right cannot steal these songs. Why not deliver me? This isn't zealotry, it's a deep expression of humanity.
***** Do you know anything at all about the life of Paul Robeson, Mr. Khimera? Do you think he was a gospel singer?
***** Sounds like we are in agreement. This particular spiritual was written in response to slavery in America. I'm not making it any more political than it has always been. You must know that spirituals were written to ask God for freedom from southern Christian slave owners.
Incredible song, left me speechless.
I'm singing this song in choir, love it

He is good right
What a voice. What a life story. What a great man he was. When you hear Paul Robeson sing, you either have to stand up straight and say Yes! or fall down crying.
Amen to that.
