The amount of space Rush had in the box for the winner was ridiculous; two defenders a full 5 yards either side of him. HIs first goal is my all time favourite goal. I saw this game as a 8 year-old kid and never forgot it. Thanks for the upload. 👍

Remember watching this game on Grandstand. Very hot day, very good game. John Aldridge scoring so early opened up game. 3rd All Merseyside Cup final in 6 years, and 5th Wembley game between them since 1984 including 2 Charity Shield games. Liverpool win made it extra special as dedication to 97 Hillsborough victims, only losing out on Double the following Friday. Probably first time Stewards were booted and dressed similar in White shirts and orange bibs.
Apart from winning league in 1990 probably the last great occasion Lfc were involved in until 2005. Yes they won stuff in between but it was not stuff to tell your grandkids about.
