That is unfortunate. IRS has actually made home office deduction easier over the years with a standard method. Definitely speak with your own advisor though since each situation can be different.
In the comments on passive losses from roughly 43:00 to 46:00, a) how do you document your hours and b) what if you cannot meet the hours tests?
