WOW!Great video! I will share it later on our page, when Niuports will be re-stocked, which should happen in a month or so) thank you!! and great music as well))
Wow, thank you Edgar, I feel super honored! I really love your work and I have the Cauldron and the Lancia in my stash as well. I'm planning to do videos on them as well (but given my current pace this might take a while 😅 )
Wow, wow, wow, another piece of modelling art. Attracted by "What the fokk" with its zillions of views I decided to watch The Alleyman's older clips, too. A very wise decision because they are really worth being seen.
Just came across your website and am so pleased that your focus is WW1 aircraft and now have subscribed. I learned a few tricks of the trade today so I will definitely be using them in future builds. Great job on the cockpit btw so I will be checking out the other videos as well.
Thanks Robbo, originally I planned to do some also some other WW1 subjects like tanks or artillery pieces. It just happens that I can't get enough of the aircrafts 😅
Just subscribed . Great stuff. For the clear part though, wondering if it would have been easier to stretch some clear sprue to make the bowl? Looking forward to future videos. Ive binge watched all of them so far.
I just discovered your channel. I love it! Beautiful work along with great editing and narration, and a cheeky sense of humour to boot. Keep up the good work.
Thanks Gunther, I actually uploaded the second part just yesterday: th-cam.com/video/GnR3zv8gL64/w-d-xo.html Greetings from the other side of the ocean!
Ok.. I'm hooked. Subscribed. I just started back building Biplanes. The kits are better but the skills of modelers and available improvements are light years beyond what I did back in the old days. I hope you will help us improve an older simpler kit.... since Wingnuts is Kaput. Thanks. A video on doing/improving rigging (and where to get items) would be great.
Thanks for your nice feedback! I just uploaded the second part which is about painting the exterior. Rigging will be in the next video (but technically it's not too different from the interior rigging done here :) )
For the nylon thread I go for fishing line in .1mm thickness, it's often called 10/100. The turnbuckles I get from Gaspatch but you don't necessarily need them.
Excellent review of a neglected subject and I look forward to the next instalment. Great work and progress and I have just subscribed as well! Thank you. Gary
For those “modellers”who think that slapping on a watery black wash over everything gives a weathered look, look on this and learn how it’s done properly. This is artistry in 3D.👍👍👍
@@howardcobb4354sorry, I only reply now. I haven't really patronized on anyone, did I? I'm using the "slap on" method myself (I think actually in the 3rd part of this series 😅)
Hi Alleyman. You channel was recommended by LPJ Models. Fab work so far. I have another channel that is modelling related (marks modelling ramblings)but nowhere near as good as yours and James. Keep those vids coming. Regards Mark
Stunning work. I will be starting my first bi-plane soon. It's the inter war years American Stearman PT-17 trainer in 1/32 from ICM. It seems an interesting kit and comes with three figures so should make a nice diorama. It's obviously not the quality of a Wingnut Wings or CSM kit, but it seems very good for the price. Been practicing making turnbuckles with 0.5mm brass tube, thin electrical wire and 1.12 fishing line. When it comes to doing it on the model though, all I can say is wish me luck! Oh, and you have another subscriber. Happy modelling my friend.
Just found out about your channel and have followed all the Niuport Build series. Magnificent!. Just one question; Do you also use 0,1 nylon cable for the control lines? it seems a bit thicker and rigid in the video! cheers!
Thanks and welcome aboard. If I remember correctly I used the .1mm line for all the cables in the build. I also have a .12mm here so maybe I mixed that up 😅
I hope you enjoyed my first video here on YT. Please feel free to comment on things to improve etc., any constructive feedback is highly appreciated! UPDATE - here's the 2nd part: th-cam.com/video/GnR3zv8gL64/w-d-xo.html
Thanks Steve, I usually mask off the surfaces where parts are glued together. This is mainly to avoid fit issues but it also allows me to just use plastic cement. In case that I glue on a painted surface I'm using CA glue to not mess up the paint job.
Well, I'm a slow builder, I tend to finish those 1/32 aircrafts over a period of 3 months. (That's not the net building time of course, I would guess I average maybe 1-2hrs a day modelling).
Oh and on oil paint drying time: if I use the oil paint directly out of the tube e.g. for wood grain or leather painting, I let it sit for at least a day (if I'm in a hurry), better two. For most of my weathering work I put the oil paint on a cardboard to suck out the oil for a couple of hours. In this case I let the paint sit on the model for maybe 15 minutes, then hit it with a hair dryer and then I go on painting.
Great start to a wonderful kit. I have subscribed and look forward to your future videos, but have a request: PLEASE omit that annoying background music. I'd much prefer simple silence to that repetitive noise. Thanks, and good luck with your channel!
Depends a bit on the paint. Lacquer or alcohol based acrylic on (clean) plastic is pretty safe. Water based acrylics without primer is a different story...
Fantastic video. Great job explaining colors and processes. Please don’t stop, it helps a lot.
Thanks for your kind words, Mike. I will definitely go on and also try to reduce time between video releases a bit.

Wonderful. I am about to start the early Nieuport from CSM, so I need your guidance. I have built several of their armored cars. Terrific models.

Thanks a lot Bruce. I think stretching the clear sprue would indeed have been easier but I didn't think of that before reading your comment 😅

Wow that's really humbling

Thank you Bob! Really encouraging to hear.
Interesting way of doing the wood grain with a sponge! I will have to give that a try on my next build
Thanks, the sponge makes a finer and more subtle grain pattern. I like that for larger surface areas. For more pronounced patterns I use the brush.
Looking forward to more! There are a few videos out there making these WW1 model aircraft and your work is right up there with the best. Thank you
Thanks a lot!

I was kinda diggin' the music. Makes the video more interesting. Sames reason there are sound tracks in movies.
What did you use to paint the air induction tube?
Alclad aluminum for the pipes + Mr Metal Brass for the details
Whoah
