never used a scope as he said it reflected the light and gave his position away and ate snow to cool his breath down , truly the best sniper in history
My greatgrandpa was killed on this war by a sniper. People of Finland were brave warriors, I respect them. There were plenty of soviet soldiers who died because of horrible frost (they had no special winter boots).
On this day 82 years ago, on November 30th, 1939, the USSR invaded Finland with 450,000 men and bombed Helsinki. Despite superior military strength, especially in tanks and aircraft, the Soviet Union suffered severe losses. Finally, the invasion cost the USSR its seat in the League of Nations.
The Soviet Union won the Soviet-Finnish War of 1939-1940. The USSR nevertheless, as a result of this war, achieved those territorial concessions from Finland, which it asked for during the peace negotiations. The consequence of the victory of the USSR in the war was the pushing of the northwestern border of the Soviet Union by more than 100 km from Leningrad, which subsequently played a decisive saving role for this city in the Great Patriotic War. Finland, on the other hand, suffered huge casualties, especially in the cadre of officers and soldiers. Subsequently, the actions of Finland were aimed at regaining their old territories and conquering new territories from the USSR due to the German offensive against the Soviet Union.
@@dmtr123 Those are in general are well known facts, however it doesnt change the fact that it was military agressive criminal act equal to the Hitler's attack on other countrues. The will of USSR to move the border didnt give the right to attack another country.
@@LCMhistory Well, if you compare the Soviet Union with Nazi Germany, you are an idiot. You do not need to shoot historical videos, but cook chips in Coca-Cola. I will repeat. The first clash between Soviet and Finnish troops was at the Mannerheim Line in Karelia. 130,000 Finnish troops were stationed in these defensive lines while the Soviets attacked with roughly 250,000 troops. Something also worth mentioning that the situation these troops were in was horrible, the record low peak in Karelia was -43 °C."
So very well done! Not just stop-motional manner, but also historical perspective. Finnish used "motti"-tactics to block vehicles from retreating in ambushes and also how the sniper - Simo Häyhä the White Deaths was realistically portrayed in this content. 6/5 stars for this one.

Don't feel too bad, a lot of Europe failed in resisting the Soviets, and a lot of Europeans who tried resisting the Soviets were thrown under the bus by the West (East Germany, Hungary, Czechoslovakia).
They resisted so well that now I, a Russian, drink beer at my dacha in the former Finnish lands, and they give my country a lot of money for the opportunity to relax here. Fins were smashed to smithereens twice. And don't forget who eventually joined the countries of the fascist coalition. America and half of Europe fought fascism, and at the same time they worship white fascists. How poor everyone is, the Soviet Union criminally attacked them, attacked poor Finland... Russian Russians in Vyborg and other cities, for the genocide of the Russian people after the collapse of the Russian Empire, Finland has not received much yet. So, as they said, you'll notice a speck in someone else's, but you won't see a log in your own. May I remind you, Mr. Hungarian, what your soldiers were doing on the territory of the Soviet Union together with the troops of the Wehrmacht and the Waffen SS?
