I appreciate the kind words and your taking the time to comment. Plenty of great ideas to unpack in the Twilight Zone, but I agree that it’s perfect for some mindless entertainment as well. Have a great day 🔑
I like this TZ Episode. It's not great and pretty straight forward but its got 2 great messages if you pay attention. They are Guilt and Grief if not dealt with will kill you, and The aged need to stop proving themselves to the up and coming youth. Q1. I dont pay attention to or value Social Media. I dont see the connection you brought up. I see Denton a broken soul with worth but has forgotten his value due do actions he did in the past that he can't deal with. This reminds me of talks I had with my Paternal Grandfather (who I am named after) who served in WWII as a Co-Pilot of B-17 bombers. He was born in 1924 but changed his BC to 1921 so he could join right after Pearl Harbor. After the war he was in the USAF Reserve during Korea and trained younger Pilots in CA who went over to fight. During the 60s he and his wife divorced due to his heavy drinking and bad temper. Both of these were caused by issues he had with the War and being shot down and evading the Germans in France and survivors guilt. In the early 70s he went to AA and got better then used his turn around to help other Vets. I say all this to show you that is what I see in Denton. An older man who did terrible stuff (on purpose or through factors outside his control) and now his mind broke and like 1000s of others found self medication the answer. My Grandfather said this was Rod sending a message to his fellow WWII Vets that were "Drunks" or "Drinking too much" because of the war to get help. Stop drinking and get proper doctor prescribed medicine to help with the nightmares, voices, and issue they were dealing with. Q2. I know AA has a very strong Religious connection. I dont know if that was the key factor in my grandfather's recovery or him hitting rock bottom, alone, his son telling him he was going to be a grandfather and his 1st grandchild was going to be named after him, or him connecting with an old USAAC friend and them starting a flight school together was the trick, or all of that but whatever it was William B. Nelson was able to get rid of his guilt, anger, and grief and have a great 2nd half of his life. Q3. My moment of all awe was when they shot each other and how little it seemed to hurt and how little blood there was. I guess being the kid who had a step dad that was a Cop that took me shooting I had a respect and fear of guns that most 8 yr olds didn't. Sidenote - Thank you for your open monolog. I have 3 kids, 2 boys and my youngest is a girl almost 20 yr old. While she was 14-18 we had a lot of issues with her doing self harm, being bullied at school due to her weight and sexual political beliefs. I have gone to a lot of counseling with my daughter to learn on how to help my daughter. I am not gay, I came from a household of suck it up buttercup and Stop crying or I will give you something to cry about. It has been a real education for me. I still have a lot to learn like using They/Them Zee/Zed but I am trying.

Thank you, sir. It's nice to know that some of my mindless entertainment is worthy of some serious thought!
