KONSTHALL TORNEDALEN - how not to waste money

Konsthall Tornedalen is nothing short of a passion project, but foremost it's a cultural necessity. Today, the north of Sweden doesn't have a proper art gallery. If you live in Swedish Lapland and want to see works made by artists of the north, you have to travel south to the big cities. But, that may soon be about to change, all thanks to the visions of Gunhild Stensmyr and Theodor Ringborg. This is the story of Konsthall Tornedalen.
In 2009 Gunhild Stensmyr laid the foundation for Konsthall Tornedalen, by establishing Art Hotel Tornedalen. In renovated, genuine houses she welcomes tourists and artists from all over the world to Vitsaniemi for a spectacular visit draped in cultural experiences.
