The recent Stress Test reminded me how happy MnM makes me. There's a subtle joy and satisfaction from getting immersed in this world. Thank you for bringing the game of my dreams to life.

    Good stuff lads.
One thing I really respect about this game is you are focused on key things - and leave things that can be done later to later. An example of this is your UI. It's basic, but we knew you will work on it later more.
Pantheon as an example wasted all this time on the UI and they didn't even have a game.

Torches create light. Bugs are attracted to light. Spiders eat bugs. Perhaps the spiders are smart enough to use torches as bait. Light also incentivizes surface dwellers to go deeper...

Great to see the game coming along, its been fun following it for quite some time now. However I do wonder about if you are ever considering adding support for MAC? I Understand that it would only be a fraction of your playerbase and not priority in beta, but do you think it will be done at som point? : )

Goblins should not have anything special to their jump, they should just have a percentage chance when they jump to go "NYEH".

I noticed the character concept art was new (to me) on the official website. Why are so many of the females models a lot taller than the males? Not trying to cause a stink, nor am I being a snowflake, it's an honest question as to reasons for that. Will the character creator have a height slider?

    • @MonstersMemories
      @MonstersMemories  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

There are no plans for a height slider at this time.
No worries in asking the question. I actually had to pop into the concept art and check after you mentioned it.
It looks like this is only the case with Dwarves, Goblins, and Trolls. Ogres are about even.
For the Goblins and Dwarves, it's mostly due to their hunched shoulders. The hunch is due to the men having to carry the weight of the world, along with everyone's bullshit - if I had to guess. It's tough to be a man, baby.
But feel free to ask Goblin what he was thinking when he made them on his livestream.
For the Ogre, she's as tall, but much leaner. Some might say fitter... but we'll call it leaner, since he's till a Chad.
For the Trolls... well... they're Trolls. He's a dump truck, and she's a swamp witch. So it sort of makes sense.
Hopefully that helps give you some insight. From my POV at least.

are the graphics supposed to be retro, or is it lack of artist on the team and limited resources?

Its stylized that way on purpose as a nod to classic mmos from the early 2000s. You can see the design decision even in the game's name: Monsters and Memories

Art is intentional as far as I know. Game is inspired by classic EQ. Also, they're working with a generally small team making a massive MMO. Don't know that high demand graphics are practical for such a game and team

It's because this isn't even alpha, it's a proof of concept. They have been streaming some of their graphics work, you can see it on their home page.
